Chapter 107

Ammy laid down on the bed tears flowing down her soft cheeks. She was always glad and ecstatic whenever they made out with Max,her husband but today it was different.

She now felt and believed that she held no status in this huge mansion.

When everyone else now worshipped her for being the great Maxwell Storm's wife, she still felt empty and void... without a status nor name although she practically possessed all that.

Being Mrs Maxwell Storm, she needed nothing more for fame but just that title...that name, but to her it made no sense and held no importance.

She owned nothing here.Yes, nothing at all to be proud and glad of.Not even a mere respect from her husband.

The roof that was housing her belonged to Maxwell and everything in it was his property and could use it as he pleased, including her.

Now, thinking of how Renna Evans had gone to all length to separate them, she wondered how and why one would wish. to be a wife to this cold and mean beast.

She didn't regret marrying him because divorce could be due anytime after all it has to happen at some point but she felt punished and betrayed by her own very heart for loving him.

She loved him so much but all she could receive was a one day care and the other day mistreat.

Her silent cry converted into small sobs in the eerie torturing darkness of the night. She felt like shouting out her pains and hurt but she was in no position to do so with her torturer laying beside her.

Who even dares cry loudly when in the same room with their cold and mean boss?

Her pains and displeasures were to remain personal....surging within the depth of her innocent young heart or so she believed she should.

She continued crying silently. She suddenly remembered what her friend,Sherry, would do when she was hurt by something.

She would take her to the bathroom and make her stand Infront of a mirror then she would say to her,"pass all the pain to the reflection sweery. We don't want to loose all this beauty of yours now and crying will make your eyes sullen and all red like a bloody vampire and your face will wrinkle from sadness, maintain the beauty and everything..you will need it to attract a rich man who will make you happy and a young madam in a rich family."

She said this to make her smile sometimes and also give her hope and make her smile when she was angry and it always worked. She would glare at her reflection and noting but all the truth said by her friend, she would just smile...either for hope or for having a shoulder to lean on and someone to comfort her.

Thinking of that now,she rose from the bed and quietly walked to the bathroom. She needed the remedy now more than never before. She had already attracted a rich man so the beauty was not a big deal to worry about but she needed the strength to remain strong.

She quietly opened the door that walked inside the beautifully done bathroom.

She walked to the mirror and stood before it....she watched the tear-tattered face. Her eyes were sullen and a shade of red had take their sparkling Pearl white color.

"I don't have to waste my happiness for something of less importance to me...when I married him,it was an agreement...an agreement to all this and so I need to be strong to deal with that monster,"she spoke to the reflection.

Back in the bed,Max stirred from his sleep. He had listen to Ammy's sharp piercing sobs until his eyes got heavy and he fell into a light slumber.

The room was very silent and cool.He could tell without checking the other side of the bed that he was alone.

His heart started racing in his chest before he could even confirm if she really was out of the room.

Since he was six years old,he had learnt not to get attached to people so as to save himself from a harsh pain he had suffered at such an young age.But due to love or what he believed to be love,he did once again and he was heartbroken...and now,now that he was sure he was in love with this petite wife of his,he didn't want to loose her...not for any reason.

He was afraid that she might have left him and maybe she would not come back to him like she did when she left after the 'Renna scandle'.

He swiftly hopped out of the bed and headed to the door.If she had left, then he should be on a hurry to catch her up before she could go too far.He opened the door and began descending the stairs as though he had seen a very terrifying scene from where he was from.Within a minute,he was already downstairs and was heading for the main door.

"Where are you going to at this time Max?"a feminine voice met his ears before he could push the door open.

Max halted in his position and turned to see who was talking.

"Did you see Ammy?..."he responded with a question instead, making her frown in confusion.

"No I didn't....but isn't she in your room?"she asked still frowning.

"No she is not..."he answered running his fingers in his obsidian black hair.

"Did you two fight?"Milady asked out of pure curiosity.

Max looked at her not knowing what to answer. He didn't even know if they had fought or what had made him treat his wife in such a way.If he was still that old Maxwell, she would have gotten a befitting answer but now he just nodded his head.

"Yeah,and I don't know where she is..."he confessed.

Milady smiled at the beautiful scene before her.She couldn't believe that her own brother was now like a confused kitten, just because of love.

"I have been out here and I haven't heard the door being opened. She should be somewhere in your room, cuddled like a kid left alone in an eerie darkness, and she must probably be crying,"she spoke with a deep smile on.

Max looked at her.

'Why on earth is she smiling?'he mused as he started towards the stairs. He was sure there was nothing so entertaining in what she just said.

He ignored her and again ran all the way to his room.Milady stood transfixed at her position. This is a drama she would love and pray to see each day...her brother worrying about a woman!

"Love o Love!" she exclaimed with a chuckle as she also started walking to her room.

Max got to his room. His eyes, landed on the beautiful petite woman he was now madly in love with.

His heart enlightened and calmed down as soon he saw her.The thunderous rambling of the heart was replaced with an explainable warmth.

Ammy slowly locked the door not wanting to wake Max up,little did she know he was now watching her.

When she was done she slowly turned to head towards the bed.

And that's when Max turned the lights on.

Ammy halted in her position as though it was a thief caught right into the action. She silently gazed at Maxwell who was also gazing at her.

Without a word,Max slowly walked to where she stood and took her hand calmly. She tried to pull away her hand from his grip but he was too strong for her.Like an innocent lamb she followed him towards the bed.He made her lay on it then she covered her with the soft velvet blanket.

All that time,Ammy was quiet not knowing what just happened to the beast he was about few hours ago.

He then sat beside her and tucked a strand of hair that was swinging on her face.He carefully studied her calm face.

Her eyes were swollen and she was all red.

He raised his hand and slowly caressed her cheeks, making fresh tears break off their healthy springs and washed down her cheeks.

Max wiped them away. His heart felt heavy and hurt just by looking at her cry.

"Go to bed now..."his finally spoke, his voice broken.

With that,he walked to the other side of the bed and laid beside her.

Ammy remained silent in the bed.

"What just happened?"she silently asked her confused self.

"He brought me to bed, tucked me in and wiped away my tears but I didn't hear the word sorry. Is he seriously not sorry for what he just did to me?"she continued questioning herself.

She let out a deep silent sigh.

It was always a great task to understand her husband and she couldn't bother to know what his action meant.

She took in a deep breathe and closed her eyes.

It was already in the depth of the night and she had to give herself a beautiful sleep now.

With her eyes closed, she soothed her soul and her body moved along with the soothing and she fell into a deep slumber.
