the doctor's

Dr. Baker look ed David over and recommended another stay in the hospital which David's mom agreed to he was back home in 4 days but within 1 hour

Of the seizure the hair had receded back into his back but the tiny pinpricks of blood all over his back Dr. Baker couldn't explain them and said they should take him to a hospital in Anchorage they'd know more about stuff like this and so he was transferred to the hospital in Juneau only to be told that he probably fell on something or that it was an allergic reaction on his back and the seizure was probably caused from the earlier instinct of drowning his hand had finally scarred up but it was very noticeable and the doctor said they couldn't do anything about it. And his canines for some reason had grown they had a dentist file them down

Lucy debated everything in her head black curse crazy woman but what if it was true what if this was coming from her line calling the McKinney's certainly couldn't hurt her father had told her old Scottish legends about stuff like this but she'd never believed it she'd always grown up near the tribe that's how she met her husband.

And George's grandmother was a very wise woman very respected in the community but her saying that something like this not even she could convince the community not to look down on this what was it.

Calling the McKinney certainly couldn't hurt.

She called while they were in Juneau the phone rang and rang for a long time and just as she was about to hang up somebody answered hello this is Mr. McKinney how can I help you.

Hello my name is Lucy Padfoot

There wasn't much to say after David was examined at the hospital other than the seizures were probably something caused by his near-drowning they kept him for observation for about a week this would be ridiculously expensive how old is family ever afford it they got Healthcare from the tribe but that sometimes didn't cover when you had to go to a larger Hospital some doctors had tried to convince David's mom to take David Joe Montana where there was a hospital that specializes in near-drowning cases and the after-effects.

David's mom had decided against that as it would entail leaving Alaska and she didn't feel comfortable she'd never been to any other state in the whole

Her whole life she has been to Canada once on a long family trip David had gotten to go on a school trip through Canada down into New York but his mom had gone with him his mom was not going to leave him alone and he was doing better after the week in the hospital they still couldn't explain the tiny pinpricks and wrapped it up saying it was probably some sort of allergic reaction so they changed the medication that he been prescribed.

, soon enough they were back home David was up and running by then but his mom still kept him indoors it was mid-spring now David's friend Jorge had brought in the fishing hunt for David's family George's grandmother knew that David's mom I was nervous about seeing the McKinley's so George's grandmother agreed to go with her and David,,

The McKinley's house was a couple of miles away George's grandmother decided she'd Drive her old pick up truck all too soon they were at the McKinley's their house loomed over the valley on the hill where it's at an old dilapidated once Grand Mansion now in need of a lot of repairs is where the McKinley has lived and had lived since their family came to settle Alaska along with a lot of other families McKinley's had struck it rich in gold and then oil but the oil money had all dried up and the gold was the only thing keeping them and it wasn't even a big mine.

Parked out front and they all got out and went out to the door the floorboards creaked David's mum took a deep breath and knocked on the door the
