I look over at the screen as red alarms go off. The sirens sound. Allen grabs my hand possessively. He starts running towards the coffee table. He grabs a silver necklace with a bird on it. He presses a button as we run.
"What's that for?" I ask. I almost trip, but Allen holds my waist.
"It's for BBHQ alarms. This necklace is normally put away, but it was out for today. Weird," He sounds confused. We begin running toward the Weapons and Ammunitions room. He throws a bulletproof vest helmet to me and he starts putting on his own. He grabs a big shotgun from off of the wall and hands me a handgun. He grabs a belt of about 100 bullets and straps it around my waist. He grabs another bullet belt and straps it on himself like a crossbody bag.
"Let's go, babe" He has a serious expression on his face like he's trying hard to keep me following his lead. I nod and follow him out of the office.
Please, if one of us gets injured, please don't let it be him.
I hold on to his hand tighter and follow him into the unknown.
It's annoying when someone knows what's going to happen and does it anyway. These thoughts run through my head as Allen speeds in a back alley. He looks over at me.
"You know, if this is another staged mission like the last one," He pauses and looks back at the road. "I swear I will quit," He finishes. I put my hand on his thigh as he drives. He doesn't seem to mind it so I relax my hand a bit.
After about ten minutes, we pull behind a fancy restaurant.
"I saw Yvette roll up into here with some guy for a date, I'm pretty sure it was for a date," I say. I glance over at Allen. "He was kind of hot, to be honest," I say.
He glares at me. "No, he wasn't,".
"Yes, he was," I say.
"No, he wasn't," He replies.
"Yes-" He cuts me off with a look, and putting his finger to his lips in the universal sign for: 'If you don't wanna die, I suggest you shut up or I'll make you'.
