"And."  Nigel gave Captain Alex a gentle smile as he loosely wrapped his hand around the side of her arm.  "I would say our good Captain was a very lucky woman."  His smile became a smirk as she growled quietly at him.  Something about what he could do with his luck that sounded physically impossible.  


Nigel continued. "The shot passed through cleanly, and I am certain I can stem the bleeding, but we will need to get her back to Dr. Hennessey as quickly as possible."  He looked to Geri in the back of the cart.  "I'd like to move her to the back where she can lay down for the return to the ship."  As he and Geri prepared to move the Captain, Nigel gave her a look of warning.  "This will not be comfortable, my dear, but I have faith in your stubbornness."
