Chapter 24: Excuse me, Mr. da Vinci

Long minutes passed by, and Nigel grew concerned that Laurence was unable to hire a messenger. Finally a young lad came jogging up to da Vinci's home and rapped on the door. Geri straightened in the cart which forced Nigel to move a little to see around the larger man. The boy knocked again, and after a moment the man himself came into partial view. Nigel gripped the back of the bench as he and Geri watched the exchange between the boy and the master artist. Laurence must have used the Borgia name again since da Vinci smoothed his hands over his garb nervously then gestured for the lad to lead the way. Both of them bustled off, hurriedly.

"Let's go." Geri's order was a quiet growl as he hopped down from the cart. Nigel slid to the ground a bit more gracefully, then stretched his legs to catch up with the taller Security Officer.
