"Sharon, send the body to the forensics." Felix said to her, as he took the tablet from her coming to stand beside me, "do all his victims have the same symbol?" he asked. Felix was nothing as I had imagined in the mission. He was observant, focused and was a pretty good team leader.
"No, only 10 of his 30 victims had the symbol, they were on his latest victims. The research team has been trying to figure out what the symbol means they couldn't find anything." I messaged Andrea to inform me if they find anything about the vampire, she had gone today to look for him.
"Um... Felix! I think you should see this." There was panic in Sharon's voice as she called him, we turned to her, As I watched in horror, the body before me began to contort and writhe. Felix moved forward, "what did you do?"
Suddenly, a wisp of black smoke rose from the body, curling around it. At first, the smoke was wispy and thin, but as it grew, it began to take on a life of its own. The thick black smoke began to seep out from its every pore, consuming the figure until it was entirely enveloped in its darkness. It swirled and twisted, dancing in the air like a dark, malevolent spirit. The room grew colder and darker.
I could feel my heart pounding in my chest as I gazed at the scene before me, unable to tear my eyes away from the macabre display. The black smoke seemed to grow denser and more menacing by the second, filling the room with an eerie silence. I was too stunned to move, a hand closed around my arm pulling me back. As Felix and Sharon moved away from the body.
The once-solid form of the man was now being consumed by the smoke, his body disintegrating into nothingness. The smoke engulfed him completely, obscuring him from view. It was as if he was being erased from existence, wiped clean from the world. And then, just as suddenly as it had appeared, the smoke dissipated, leaving nothing behind but an empty space where the man had once been.
"I didn't do anything! As soon as I touched him. It happened." Sharon explained, as we all stood outside the room. "What is he doing here?" she said pointing at something behind me. I was shocked to find an unfamiliar person standing behind me. Not only that, I just realized that the person who pulled me out of the room was not Selina like I had thought but this unknown person, and he was currently holding my arm.
I moved away as fast as I could from him. Who the hell is he? And how come I had not noticed him? The first thing that I noticed about him was the mana swirling around him. It quickly vanished but There was powerful aura surrounding him, it was muted as if he was hiding it, I might be the only one who was able to see it as I am part demon. He was exuding danger and power.
It made me realize that he was the dark figure I had seen was his aura, he was using a spell to hide himself, but as I had panicked earlier and unconsciously used my powers, the powers of a demon, the fire I had caused was hell fire, the stronger the demon the stronger the hell fire. It was the reason Felix wasn't able to put out the fire while Asher did. It burns everything and everyone in its path.
Selina must have been hurt badly, I know she had shown me that she was not harmed, she had healed herself, but the burning does go away just because it is healed, I had seen her wince while lifting a pen, she was still hurting, hurting badly, she was putting on a brave face so that I will not panic again.
I usually am very careful as to not use any of my demon powers, while Nyx has no problem using my witch powers. It was how I was able to see him, his aura is a lot stronger than anyone's I have ever seen.
"You are late, Aiden." Felix said to the stranger, "I am not." Aiden said, staring at me, with an odd expression. Does he know I was able to see him? He was technically here before us, he just chose to stay hidden, he had been listening to everything we were saying.
"How could you be so careless while handling a dead body?" he said with a disgusted look at Sharon. "Is this what you have been teaching them?" he asked Felix in a mocking tone. They clearly had a history.
"It was Black magic. And they are new to this." Felix said.
"You are not." Aiden clearly doesn't like Felix. "I could sense the Black magic on the dead body from a mile away, I guess you couldn't."
"Then you should have stopped her." I interjected, "You clearly could sense it from a mile away. Or were you too busy bragging about it?" I was not going to let him insult Felix like that. He is clearly a bully. They can have the bragging match later when we are not in the middle of a mess.
Aiden turned his full attention toward me. It was unnerving, but I stood my ground, I have survived a demon prince, he is nothing. his grey eyes were piercing, and the pale invisible smoke curled towards me, bouncing back as it hit the barrier surrounding me.
"It is a good thing you are pretty. I will let it slide," he said with a smirk as his eyes wandered the length of me. A laugh escaped me at his audacity.
"Too bad, I couldn't say the same about you." I could feel my hand moving before my brain caught up to it. Before my fist could knock the arrogant smirk out of his face Felix caught it.
