Chapter 73

|3rd POV|

The situation in Oldtown is getting worse. The soldier Jon Arryn hesitates to kill the Faith Militant because they are believers of the Faith. They did not want to kill the warrior of the Seven Faith because they thought it was a sinful action.

The same with the soldiers of the Oldtown. Even though they get healed by the Healer of Lunaria, they are still believers of the Faith. They are grateful for the Healer's help, but they hesitate to give their life to them, unlike the smallfolk who lost their faith a long time ago.

"Go back to your ship! Take back all the items you have to the ship. We will hold them back before they could come and kill you."

"We will prepare immediately."

"Good."

When Jon gets out of the hospital, a shadow appears in the corner of the room. This is the Black Dog Viserys sent to protect the White Cat group doing their duty in Old Town.

"All of the items have been moved to the ship. You can go to the ship. We will stay here and do our duty as the eyes for His Majesty."

"Of course. Good luck."

The Black Dog nods his head and disappears once more. Seeing her duty in this city is over, she walks out of the hospital and walks toward the ship with her fellow healer. Without Jon knowing, they had already received their order from Viserys to pack their tools quickly and any item they needed to take back home.

While Jon Arryn tries to talk his way out of this problem, Natalia and her squad are already on the ship that is ready to sail away from Oldtown.

However, as they were sailing across the river to the Redwyne Strait, they did not notice three hundred men waiting for them at the cliff next to the river. When they see their target, the Captain of the Faith Militant smiles and says.

"Our target is coming. Tell the boys to get ready."

When the ship is within their range, the captain raises his hand, and his man stands on the cliff with their bow drawn. Then, after a few seconds, the captain shouted.

"Fire!"

A hail of arrows flies toward the ship, which is unprepared for the ambush.

"Ambush!"

One of the captains on the ship shouted and quickly took cover while the healer erected a barrier to block as many arrows as they could. Natalia quickly orders her squad.

"One of you! Take care of the sail! Use wind magic! We need to get out of here! Captain, take the steering wheel! Black Dog! Protect him! The rest of you! Heal and protect!"

They quickly obey her order and do what she says. Two Black Dogs follow the captain to the Bridge, creating a barrier around them. One of the healers creates a strong breeze to push the ship faster.

"Fire!"

Another hail of arrows fell on the ship, but this time, it only hit a couple of men who ran to the armory but did not make it. Natalia grit her teeth and quickly runs away toward the man lying on the ground, bleeding.

She quickly heals the man and slowly removes the arrow from his shoulder and ankle. However, as she heals the man, another hail of arrows falls on the ship. Lucky for her, one of the Black Dogs appears next to her, creates a barrier, and even casts a fireball that explodes in the enemy's general direction.

Panic soon ensued as the cliff the archer stood on started to crumble from the Fireball attack. It is good enough for the Marine to finish preparing for their counterattack. A hail of arrows flies toward the enemy with the help of the Black Dogs to make the arrows fly faster.

It is very effective and manages to kill a couple of dozen of them in a single volley.

The Faith Captain grit his teeth and shout.

"Aim for their sail! Aim for their sail! We cannot get the witch away! Kill the witch!"

Seeing they are aiming at the sail, Natalia quickly points her finger at the incoming arrow and creates a massive shield that blocks all of the arrows. However, because she is focusing on protecting the sail, two arrows manage to slip up her protection and hit her shoulder and back.

"Leader! Let me heal you!"

"Get behind me! I will protect you! Don't take the arrow out if you cannot do that, focus on healing and make sure I did not die of blood loss."

"Yes!"

"We are almost out of this river."

After a few minutes of constant fighting, they fight their way out of the river and enter an open sea.

Seeing them getting away, the captain frowned a little before sighing.

"Tch. They manage to get away."

"Sir! What should we do? We have a ship on the beach that we can use but it may already be too late for us."

"Don't worry. We have more people waiting for them in the sea. They will attack them when they try to go to Lunaria. They will not get away that easily."

The captain did not know that a massive fleet had already captured five ships on their way to Oldtown just outside of the Strait of Redwyne. This is the Fleet of Lunaria sailing to Oldtown.

Their ship gets captured because they have the flag of the Faith Militant.

"Your highness."

"How is it?"

"They are the people sent here to ambush our people, your highness. They are the direct men of the High Septon. Their job is to kill the healer and steal all of the potions on the ship. The reason why they are so far away from the strait is because they are afraid the Redwyne will attack them at the order of the Hand of Kings."

"We are really lucky to rush over here using magic, huh? If we are too late, we will miss them on one of the islands around this part of the ocean."

There are many empty islands near the Redwyne strait. Pirates use this place to ambush any merchant who unlucky enough becomes the prey for the pirate. However, Viserys is wrong in saying they will hide on the island as the Faith Militants did not intend to hide on the island not too far away from their current location.

The only reason the pirate groups did not attack them was that the fleet was coming in their general direction, and they decided to do something smart, so they ran away. When they see a massive fleet of the infamous (for the pirate but famous for the merchant) Lunaria Fleet, they quickly inform their fellow pirate and run to the south, to the Summer Isle Sea.

"How long until we arrive in the Redwyne Strait?"

"If we go full speed, we should arrive one day at the fastest or one and a half days the longest."

"I see. Sent a letter to Natalia and her people. Ask her about her situation. Send our fastest hawk. I also need someone to send a letter to Bakir. I need the information he got on this Faith Militant, the newer information."

"Of course, your highness."

Viserys look at the distance and release a sigh. He really hates the people in Westeros, but he needs their support in case something stupid happens, like the Warmonger and Whoremonger king decide to take the left path and declare war against them.
