Chapter 105

|Cersei Lannister - Queen of the Seven Kingdoms|

I frown at the sight in front of me. It was insightful. An unfitting image for someone like me. Alas, my 'dear' husband decided to go to the North and appoint the barbarian as his hand. I tried to ask him to change his mind and appoint a dear father as his hand, but he only shouted something about too much yellow.

What a fool.

Does he not know that he can be a king because of my father? Because of Lannister, Baratheon can wear the crown. We are the ones who take over King's Landing and give him the crown, while he and his army do not need to work to take over the city.

Now in his infinite wisdom, he wants a barbarian to be his hand. What a waste of a good position.

I hold a shudder as another northern wind flies past us. Even after covering the entire carriage with a blanket, the wind still gets inside the carriage. How come they can stand this cold? Even when it was not snowing, the cold did not disappear.

"Mother, I want to go home!"

I look at my beautiful lion and give him a hug.

"Don't worry my brave lion. We will quickly go home after the visit."

"Why must we come with our father to this place? This is a place for barbarians! We should not be here, mother."

"I know, dear child. I know. However, you know how your father will not listen to me when he already set his mind into something."

"I still don't like it."

"Me too, my beautiful lion, me too."

I hold him tightly and glare at the man on the outside. If not for him, we would stay inside our warm castle.

|Robert Baratheon - King of the Seven Kingdoms|

I can feel it. I can feel her glare on my back. When I announce I will visit Winterfell, she keeps sending me glares and acts as if I did not see and notice it.

I want to declare my brother in all but blood to be the Hand of the King. I need someone I can trust to cover my back. Jon is dead under suspicious circumstances. While the Grand Maester said it was old age, I knew something was happening.

Jon is old as dirt, but his back is made out of steel. Yet, he can still fight, just like a falcon hunting its prey. That is his situation a week before he died. At first, I thought it was a sickness and overworking as his body got pale and his breath got shorter.

However, it never stops him from moving around before one day that he cannot move from his bed and cannot do his duty as the Hand of the King. The last time I see him, I can see a purple line around his neck that the Grand Maester tries to cover.

I know some sort of game is playing in the background, and I ignore it. I have lost the love of my life, and I don't care anymore. My vengeance has been robbed from me when I see that bastard Dragon's face.

As much as I don't want to admit it, he is innocent, and I trust his word when he says that he will not take the Iron Throne for himself. He is not a mad King like his father and does not cover his intention with a honeyed word like his brother. Instead, he speaks boldly and truthfully. I cannot help but respect that.

With my vengeance and love gone, I did not have anything left.

I don't care if they kill me, but as long as my blood continues to run, I'm content. I know it was my wife who poisoned Jon, but I decided to let it slide because I did not have enough evidence and reason to kill them with my bare hand.

I want to kill them, but I don't want another war and my family name to be branded as another Mad Family like Targaryen. I need to gather more evidence before I strike, which is why I need Ned on my side.

I need someone I can trust fully to help me gather evidence that the Lannister is the one poisoning Jon. They want the crown for themselves even when half of their blood is already on the throne.

I don't know what they are playing, but I will ensure they will not have their name on the throne. I will make sure the name Baratheon will always be the ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. Even though I don't care what game they are playing, I want to ensure my descendants survive.

"My king, we have arrived."

I snap from my thoughts when one of the Kingsguard calls me.

"We have arrived in White Harbor."

I look at the city in front of me, and I can say that it has changed since the last time I was here. The city is even bigger than before. The wall around the city gets taller, and the road near the city gets smoother.

It looks like White Harbor is even more prosperous than before. I look to the sea and see a large ship sailing to the city, and it bears the symbol of a flying dragon. It looks like it happened because of Lunaria, huh?

Those guys deserve Miracle Bringer's title because every city and village Lunarian visits will have a miracle happening.

We continue to ride and arrive in front of the gate of the city, where we are greeted by a fat man and a group of guards.

"Welcome to my home, Your Highness! My name is Wyman Manderly!"

Well, this is a very easily excited lord. I hope that he has good food and drink because I'm hungry. Unfortunately, bread and smoked meat do not really fill my stomach.

"Please follow me to the castle, we have prepared a feast befitting for your status!"
