Chapter 111

Three hundred and twenty-seven people died in this battle, but at least we managed to make the Dothraki retreat. Most of the casualties came from defending the Fortress. It looks like the Dothraki decide to hold their ground and fight to the death even when they are tired, and their horse is on their last legs.

"We should chase after them! If we are in a hurry, we can still catch them!"

Currently, we are inside the fortress, one of the generals built in a day. We are discussing how we should proceed from here. Two of the generals said that we should chase after them before they reached the city of Volantis.

However, the third general says that we should not chase after them because it is a pointless endeavor. We already won and should take care of the people who died in battle and ensure all the Dothraki are gone from our territory.

"What do you think, your highness?"

I snap from my thoughts when the three generals look at me.

"What do you think we should do? Should we chase after them or should we get back home?"

I think for a few seconds before saying.

"I think we should split our forces. While that is true we need to chase after them to make a point to other Dothraki, we also need to make sure the other Dothraki who are running away did not attack the village and town near Stormfist."

I can see the Dothraki running away to the forest and other directions other than Volantis. It makes me nervous. They are too unpredictable for me to leave them alone comfortably. Even when they are alone, they are too dangerous to be left alone.

"We will split our force into two. The first one will chase the Dothraki that goes to the west while the other one will be spread across the land and kill the Dothraki that is hiding in our land. They are a plague we need to kill before they spread out."

I can see one of the generals grumbling about my decision but still nodding his head. It looks like he wants to lead all of our armies to chase after the Dothraki. Does he have a grudge against them? Former slave, perhaps? I don't know.

"We also need to destroy this fortress. We don't want this fortress to be used by bandits, after all."

"Errr, your highness."

I look to the side and see a young engineer looking at me with a hesitant expression.

"Yes?"

"I think we should use this fortress, your majesty. Not only this is a perfect place to defend against the Volantenes if they decide to march against us. This can be our first line of defense against them."

"I know, that… What is your name?"

"Blair, your Majesty."

"I know that, Blair. However, we will spread our army too thin if we place them in this place for a long time. We need to hunt the remnants of Khal Jorgo's army and also chase after them. We don't have enough men to maintain this place for a long time."

I can see him look down at the ground. Does he really like this fortress? Or is it because of his first achievement? A builder of a one-night fortress is a great achievement, after all. You know what? I guess we can spare a hundred men to maintain the fortress.

"However, I can see the merit of putting some people in this place. Very well. I will leave a hundred or more men to guard this place. Not only can this place be used as a resting place for the chasing party but also reinforce them in case something happens."

"Yes, your majesty."

I nod my head and say.

"Very well. I will leave and lead three hundred men to search for the one near the mountain range. Take some to search near the shore and the one in the forest. They are unlikely to go to the shore because of their culture but we need to make sure."

After saying that, I left the tent and prepared my unit. Now, the hunted become the hunter.

|3rd POV|

Viserys and his men patrol the area for six months and kill any remnant of the Dothraki. Most of those men become bandits and lead new people to rob and kill travelers past their territory.

It was a busy month as he was busy patrolling the area and watching all the projects happening in Stormfist and the area around it. After seeing how the population grew, he decided to make a new city located on the orange shore.

Slowly but surely, Viserys take control over the formerly known as the disputed land and absorb them into the territory of Lunaria. The tribe and village that were formerly independent now slowly join under Lunaria's banner and are happy about it.

After taking care of the problem in mainland Essos, Viserys decides it is time to return home. It took him three days to get back home because of a storm, but he was finally home.

However, instead of being greeted with a warm hug by Dany and Rhae, Bakir is the one greeting him. When he sees Bakir and his current expression, Viserys knows he is not bringing good news.

When he gets close to him, Viserys says.

"What is Bakir? I have a feeling you are not bringing me good news. What is it?"

"I think we should talk about this in the palace."

Viserys nods and quickly returns to the palace, where Viserys and Bakir get inside Viserys' office.

"What is it, Bakir? What news do you bring for me?"

"War has come knocking, your majesty."

"War?"

Bakir passes Viserys a letter and lets him read it. After a few seconds, Bakir says.

"The Stag King is dead and now Westeros is on the brink of war. There are too many players who want to take the throne for themselves. It should not be our problem but because of our involvement in helping the smaller nobles in Westeros, a lot of nobles decide to declare you as their king, your highness."

Viserys rubs his head as a headache starts to appear inside his head. The original plan is not to make them declare him their king. He wants them to support him and make sure when the Westeros attack Lunaria they will not send their army and reduce the amount of army the Stag King has.

"Which house declares me as their king? We cannot give them reinforcement if they are too far away from each other."

"Lucky for us, most of them are coming from the Vale. They are the people we help when they are in debt to Lord Baelish. The three sisters, House Pyror, House Elesham, House Hersy and House Coldwater are the ones declaring you as their king. The others willing to declare you as their king but they are not as stupid as the previous house. They know that they are surrounded by enemies if they declare you as their king."

"I see. That is good. Make sure the knowledge of those houses declaring me as their king is hidden. We did not have the time to send our troops."

"I've already done that, your highness. I already told the Guild to work overtime to make sure that information stays hidden."

"Good. Tell them to make sure the information stays hidden as long as they can."

"Of course, your highness. What will we do now?"

"Prepare. Tell the men to prepare. Sent some of our men to Vale and tell them to ask if the one declare me as their king need a supply. We will not be the first one to attack but if they decide to attack us first, we will fight."

Bakir bowed a little and said,

"Of course, your highness."
