Chapter 128

"Your highness."

I look at one of my men get inside the tent. I look at him and say.

"What is it?"

"A letter comes from Lord Bakir, your highness."

"Bakir? Let me see it."

I take the letter and start to read it. After a few seconds of reading, I frown.

"What the letter says, your highness?"

I look at one of my generals and say.

"It is about the Mad Queen."

"Cersei Lannister? What will she do this time? Burn the entire Great Sept?"

"No. She and her brother are running away to Essos, or at least they tried."

"Oh? They get caught?"

"Yes. They get caught at the Crossroads. They want to use the canal to take them to the Bay of Crabs."

"Great! We can now end this war! We can use them as bargaining goods!"

"Sadly, we can't. The south demands blood for their princess to get killed by the Lannister, and they demand the blood of the Lion's Heir. Not only that, but the North also demands blood for their lord, who lost his life to the Mad Queen. We only have the Dwarf, and you know how the Old Lion hates him."

I can see realization appear in their eyes. We cannot end this war by bargaining with the Old Lion, but we can shorten it by negotiating with the North and the South. We already have the support of the south and soon to have the support from the east because we have Loras in our dungeon.

"For now, we continue using our original plan. We will block King's Landing and prevent food from entering the city. I will try to get an alliance with the north in exchange for the Mad Queen, and while we are waiting for their answer, we will make sure the army behind that wall loses morale to fight us. I also need two of you leading an army to the north and make sure the rest of the Lannister Army never reach King's Landing."

Two of the older generals raise their hands at my word. I nod and say.

"Then I will leave two thousand men in your command. The rest will stay here and blockade the city and the port. Make sure to be careful. A cornered animal is the most dangerous one. When someone has nothing to lose, they will get desperate and do something unpredictable."

"Yes, your highness!"

I nod and get up.

"If there is nothing else, you are dismissed."

|3rd POV|

It had been two months since the siege of King's Landing, and the Old Lion, Tywin Lannister, did not know what he should do. He knows that they are losing, and people start losing hope as their food slowly disappears from storage.

People start stealing food, and Tywin needs to make a law regarding that, and just like usual, he makes that punishment as gruesome as possible. The thief will be killed, but before that, they will be whipped thirty times, and their hand cut off before they get killed.

With him oppressing his people, a group of inconspicuous people easily spread a rumor. This is another plan Viserys uses to make his army have an easier time. He wants to make his people a liberator rather than a conqueror. He and his men will be viewed as a liberator from the Lannister madness and tyranny.

And it is working. People start to get even more unrest, and Tywin knows it will blow up sooner than later. While he is planning how to take care of the civil unrest, one of the guards gets inside his office without knocking.

"What is it?!"

"An army, my lord! An army arrives from the north, bearing the flag of a Wolf!"

"Fuck!"

Tywin quickly runs to the tower, takes the spying glass from his belt, and looks north. Seeing that the news is true, he grits his teeth and punches the wall beside him. He knows the one reason Stark arrives in King's Landing, which is not good for him.

That means that the Stark has defeated Vale and half of his army. However, it is too fast. He predicted that the northern army would last at least five months, but sadly his prediction was false.

He punches the wall beside him once again and screams in rage. He turns back, ready to ask the guard to take him back to his office so he can prepare to fight the Dragon and Wolf to the death. However, as he turns back, he sees his guard pointing their swords at him.

"What is this?"

One of the guards walks forward and says.

"We cannot win this, my lord. We will offer your head in exchange for mercy."

"Hah! Do you think he will spare you? Do you know who he is? He is the direct son of the Mad King! He will burn you and your family instead of sparing you!"

"Like how your daughter is killing people without a cause? We hear how he is not like his father. He is kind, and he is merciful. Have you noticed that some of the guards are missing? It is because they leave the city with their family and get accepted by Viserys Targaryen. He is a merciful king, and we want someone like him to be our king, not the whoremonger king! Not the cowardly lion!"

While the guard rants, Tywin takes action. He grabs the guard, takes his sword, and uses the guard's body as a shield. He might be old, but he is still a powerful warrior. In three minutes, he kills seven guards with only one potentially fatal wound.

However, as he exits the watchtower, he sees twenty guards pointing their swords at him.

Tywin grits his teeth in anger. With a roar, he dashes forward and fights to the last.

Half an hour later, the gate to King's Landing opens, and five people walk out. Viserys frowns a little, but his frown is gone when he sees what they bring with them. Instead of a sword and shield, they bring a white flag and a pike.

What catches his attention is what is on top of the pike. It is the head of Tywin Lannister, the Old Lion.
