Pit Viper

Draco was inside the walls for a second, and it felt like he was being suffocated and crushed at the same time. Suddenly, he was thrown out of the wall, and he was thankful to be going back to land, only, he was instantly submerged in water when he came out. The water was freezing and Draco closed his mouth, holding in the small amount of air he still had in his lungs.

He opened his eyes to find that he was currently in what looked like an ocean. Frantically looking around, he saw light coming from what he presumed to be up, so he started swimming towards it. His lungs started to burn, but he kept pushing, and just when his vision was starting to go dark, his hand broke the surface. His head, breaking the surface a second later, started sucking in large amounts of air. Not caring he was making noise.

After a second of just strained breathing, he looked around. If he wasn't currently swimming, his jaw would have probably fallen open. Instead of the domed room, He saw a night sky, only when he focused did see that the stars were slowly moving around. Looking around, Draco saw what looked to be an underground cavern. There was a sea of water on the bottom, which was murky like swamp water, and had huge things floating in it.

The thing that really amazed Draco was the mushroom-shaped trees growing out of the ceiling. They grew down and then curved back up words towards the ceiling again. They were huge, and they glowed with a bioluminescent quality to them. It was a bunch of light and dark blue hues. Draco started swimming over to the floating object. When he got there, he grabbed onto the edge, pulling himself up and onto it.

Draco laid there for a second, just staring up at the moving lights, wondering what they were. All of a sudden the surface of the water rippled. Draco jumped up onto his feet to see what was happening. Suddenly, a head broke the surface of the water, and It was humongous. Draco's face went completely white as he watched the titan of a creature look around, turning its snake-like head almost as if it was searching for something.

Draco didn't dare move a muscle, seeing as he probably wouldn't come close to being the size of its slitted pupil. Suddenly the creature's head snapped in the direction of Draco. "Ribbit!'' Draco looked about 70 feet to his left to find a creature standing on the same floating object as him. It was the size of the minotaur at its full height, with green slimy looking skin, which had hand size needles over the neck, nose, and back of its head.

It had two huge eyes and both were staring directly at him. Draco didn't know who to look at, the snake-like Behemoth currently starring in his direction, or the twenty-foot tall frog-like creature obviously staring right at him even though he had Cloaking activated. Then a memory popped up in his mind of a girl he remembered called Nova. She was a nerdy girl that had a retainer and always talked with a heavy lisp when she got nervous or excited, from when he was still in school.

She was fascinated with all animals and had brought in her pet snake as her show & tell. "Thith here ith my pet thnake, his name is Timothy, And he's a grath thnake. My daddy is a worker at the thoo, so when I athed to bring a thnake for thow and tell I was given one. I wanted to bring my favorite one, the pit viper, however they thaid it was too dangerouth and-." "Nova. Breath." the teacher stopped and told her as her face was visibly turning blue and her lisp was extremely noticeable.

the class erupted in laughter and her face turned from a blue to a deep beat red. Draco watched intently as she had been his friend all through elementary school. She started talking again, but much quieter, "A cool thing about pit viper thnakes" again kids started laughing, which was visibly affecting her, however, she pressed on, "ith their Ability to sthee heat, what is c-cool about this ith their prey the lizard and frog can also thee heat."

She was whispering by now and the only reason he could hear was that he and her seats were in the front of the class, next to where she was standing. "Th, th, th, speak up, Lisp!" A boy sitting in the back taunted, causing everyone to laugh again. "That's enough Peter." The teacher simply spoke before returning their gaze to Nova.

Nova's eyes were on the ground and she was holding the snake container against herself, tears falling down her face. Nova ran out of the classroom after that. But it didn't stop there sadly, the name 'Lisp' stuck and she ended up leaving school after two weeks. The frog opened its mouth and shot out its tongue at Draco, pulling him from his memory.

He jumped back, first staring at the frog-like creature to grab the eye, then focusing on the snake as he dogged multiple tongue attacks from the frog. As he was watching, the snake lunged at them. He leaped to the right, judging that it was heading for the frog instead of him. Getting farther away from the frog and the ever-nearing snakehead. Draco made sure to watch the frog even as he stared at the snake. Once the eye appeared, Draco instantly grabbed it.

The snake's head jerked but continued to go towards the frog, however as it passed Draco, its eye was glued on him. Draco saw a window appear in the left peripheral of his vision. He watched as the snake opened its giant mouth and closed it around the frog's body, only getting half of it in its jaw. Draco heard a loud squealing, then ribbit, before it was cut off as the two submerged into the water. Not wanting to stick around and wait for the snake, he quickly started running for the nearest wall.
