Chapter 92: Group of Dementors

Ivan saw Ron turn his head in fright, as if avoiding his gaze.

"Something's wrong, is he hiding something from me?", Ivan looked at Ron thoughtfully.

Does it have something to do with Peter Pettigrew? But from Ron's expression, that didn't seem to be the case, that look seemed....

A moment later, thunder roared through the air, and Ivan's head snapped up as a forked bolt of lightning streaked across the sky, and he saw Harry flying overhead.

In mid-air, Harry was frozen and so numb that he had to press his broom, steering through the turbulent air current and looking everywhere for the Snitch. How he avoided a Bludger coming from his right, he saw Diggory sneak underneath him. Diggory was flying in the opposite direction - did he see the Snitch?!

They couldn't go on like this anymore and the situation was getting more and more dangerous.

Harry quickly turned around and wanted to go back to the center of the pitch. But just then, a flash of lightning illuminated the stands. Harry saw something that distracted him completely: the silhouette of a huge black dog, clearly reflected in the sky above the empty seats in the Slytherin stands.

Hands numb, Harry slid on the broomstick, his Nimbus 2000 falling several feet.

He brushed the wet hair out of his eyes, and squinted to look up. The dog had disappeared.

"Harry!" Wood's cry of anguish came from the Gryffindor goal. "Harry, behind you!"

Harry panicked and looked at Diggory and down at the pitch. A small Golden Snitch appeared between them in the rain. Harry panicked once again got on his broom and flew towards the Snitch.

Everyone immediately stopped and looked at the two seekers approaching the Snitch.

Diggory was closer to the Snitch, but Harry was faster.

In the stands, Hermione's cold hand suddenly grabbed Ivan's left arm and she screamed in horror. "Look, look there!"

Turning to where she was looking, Ivan shivered fiercely as he saw the sky behind Harry and Diggory turn pitch black.

Like ink spread on water, over a hundred Dementors were attracted to the cheerful atmosphere on the Quidditch pitch, and came swiftly with the terrible cold currents.

The Dementors seemed to be invited to a feast. They were dressed in dark gray, with tattered cloaks, floating in the air. A pair of pus-rotted hands slowly waved on either side of their hoods, and the air was filled with the smell of rotting flesh.

Long ropes of ice formed around the Dementors, Ivan saw something fly out of the stands to be carried away by the Dementors above. It was his happiness.

The whole world instantly turned black and white, and there was nothing but silence left in the surrounding stands. Although the wind was still as strong as before, he could no longer hear it howling, as if someone had turned off the sound.

Ivan saw Hermione yelling at him, but he couldn't hear anything.

He pulled out his wand and pointed it at the Dementors in the center of the field.

"Expecto Patronum!" he shouted, but he couldn't hear his own voice.

His wand emitted a silver light, oscillating like a flame in a storm, bringing a moment of color to this black and white world brought by the Dementors.

But it accomplished nothing, the light dissipated instantly and turned into a faint cloud of smoke.

"Damn, there are too many Dementors!" Ivan uttered the spell again, and kept thinking of happy memories.

The surprise of receiving the Hogwarts letter, the joy of learning his first spell, the happy times he had with his friends, the light from the tip of his wand grew stronger and stronger.

Little by little a complete animal was being formed.

But this was not enough, and the fear brought by the dementors came from all sides.

Ivan tightened his grip on his wand and remembered the scene when he first released the full Patronus on the train. At that moment, he couldn't hold it in either. Hermione gave him hope and tried to remember that feeling.

Suddenly, Ivan felt a trembling, weak body clinging to him; he turned to see Hermione looking at him nervously.

Yes, that was the feeling!

The next second, a dazzling silver-white animal emerged from Ivan's wand.

The power of the Patronus Charm came from positive energy. Apart from the happy moments one can remember, it also comes from hope, the desire to live and the desire to protect.

When you feel a strong desire to protect someone, then you will be able to summon a full bodily guardian.

The Patronus released was stronger the stronger the determination to protect.

It was not a happy memory; it was Ivan's determination to protect Hermione that inspired the spell.

His Patronus was a cat, but much stronger and fiercer than a common one, with silver stripes on its body, like a tiger.

"Is it a cat or a tiger?", All the young wizards in the stands exclaimed loudly, they had never seen such a strange and weird creature.

But Ivan knew that his Patronus and Animagus had the same image and were the two black cats.

The Patronus was made powerful by his deep desire to protect Hermione at this moment.

The Patronus represented the hidden, the unknown but necessary within the personality. It is the waking secret self that lies dormant until needed. Ivan's Patronus majestically took his determination to protect Hermione, fiercely rushing towards the Dementors in the center of the field, and driving them away.

In the air, Harry was closing fast on the Snitch.

He was a little behind, but he was faster than Diggory. But then, time seemed to freeze.

Harry felt like he had entered a black hole from which he could never fly out. Helplessly, he tried to keep going. the temperature around him getting colder and colder, his breathing began to slow as if his lungs were frozen, and the freezing rain pierced his body and cut him from the inside out.

He managed to hear the voice he heard that time on the train. Someone was screaming in his head. It was a woman's voice.

???: "Not Harry, not Harry, please, not Harry!"

??: "Get out of the way, silly girl, get out of the way now...."

???: "Harry no, please, no! Take me! Kill me instead!"

Harry's brain went numb. He didn't know what was happening or what he was doing; he didn't know why he was flying. He was getting closer and closer to the Snitch, but his attention was focused on the woman's voice in his mind.

He had to help her. She was going to die. No, she was going to be killed!

???: No to Harry, please! Have mercy! Have mercy! Have mercy!"

Answering him, there was only a harsh, cold laugh, a laugh that, in the face of the pleading voice, sounded extremely cruel.

Harry felt lost. He could not help the woman. He felt like he was about to slip off his broom. Just when he thought he was going to fall like that, a silver-white animal suddenly flew up from below.

It was Ivan's Patronus which was, like his Animagus, a black cat.

As Harry regained a vague consciousness, he found himself surrounded by Dementors. Their faces hidden under their hoods were all facing him.

Behind their robes, the darkness seemed to have nothing inside.

No, Harry saw something there, it was....

His eyes widened in horror and he tried to pull out his wand, but found himself falling off his broom. His Nimbus 2000 flew into the Forbidden Forest along its original trajectory.

The cold rain was falling fast, hitting Harry's pale face hard, and he weakly reached out with his right hand, trying to grab the broom.

But his efforts were in vain, more and more Dementors were approaching the spot. The light from Ivan's Patronus was growing weaker and weaker. The woman's plea and harsh laughter were coming back to Harry's mind. They were still talking, and the man seemed to have said something terrible.

Harry tried to remember what the man had just said, but he couldn't remember anything.

He was trying to resist, but his eyelids grew heavier and heavier.

The next second, he passed out.
