Chapter 210: Ivan's Power

The four people in the boat were gathered together and did not dare to move.

Because of the small space, Harry and Hermione couldn't even sit comfortably, they could only kneel in the boat.

"Professor" Harry said anxiously, looking out at the lake nearby.

"Don't worry, Harry, as I said before, this boat is measured by the power of magic. In my opinion, Voldemort wouldn't count on the three of you." Dumbledore explained, "You are underage and unqualified, how could Voldemort have expected three young wizards of twelve or three to come to this place?"

Hearing Dumbledore's words, Harry looked worried and a bit dejected.

Dumbledore probably noticed that, he added, "Voldemort's mistake," and said, "Harry, Voldemort's mistake... Age is foolish and forgetful when it underestimates youth. You all have potential and limitless possibilities..... Well, Ivan, you can come along and be careful not to touch the water."

"But there's no room on the boat, Professor," Ivan blinked, although magically, this boat could hold several of them without risk of sinking, there wasn't enough room on board for him to sit.

"You can come up after you transform." Dumbledore said calmly. "If I recall correctly, your animagus form is not a very large animal."

Ivan was surprised; he didn't know how Dumbledore knew about his Animagus form.

Although it was a semi-public secret, Sirius, Harry and Hermione knew, Ivan was very careful whenever he transformed, and Dumbledore was absent. It stood to reason that he shouldn't have known about this.

But that was Dumbledore. He couldn't hide anything from him. He knew everything. There was no such thing as a secret from him.

Ivan didn't know his specific source of intelligence, but it wasn't just with him: even everything Voldemort did was as clear as daylight to Dumbledore.

It was amazing, admirable, but thinking about it, it was also terrifying.

Dumbledore was that kind of person.

Ivan whispered a word and turned into a black cat.

There was nowhere above the ship, he looked around, and then jumped gently onto the ship, landing right in Hermione's arms.

Hermione's little face turned red and she looked very embarrassed. She didn't think Ivan would do this, especially in front of Dumbledore, Sirius and Harry.

She turned her head and saw that the others weren't looking at them. They were trying to pretend they hadn't noticed anything, but the slight smile on their lips exposed everything.

Hermione's face turned even redder, almost to the extreme.

Just as she hesitated, the ship suddenly rocked and sank fiercely.

Hermione screamed and unconsciously hugged Ivan.

Ivan didn't have time to feel Hermione's warmth. He was surprised to see that the ship was sinking rapidly.

The ship reacted much more when he jumped aboard than when Harry and Hermione came aboard, even more than when Sirius. Originally, there was less than a quarter of the space left on the edge of the ship, it sank faster and faster, and its sinking speed was getting faster and faster, showing no signs of stopping.

If they did nothing, the ship would soon capsize and sink.

Dumbledore looked at Ivan in surprise. He quickly waved his wand and muttered a spell with his mouth. A white mist shot out from the end of the wand, passed around the crowd, then gathered under the sinking boat and pushed it up.

The boat rocked violently and gradually steadied. It was almost level with the lake supported by Dumbledore's magic.

Now, everyone is floating on the water, and they were under the danger of the boat being capsized at any moment.

Everyone was in a state of fear, and even their breathing became cautious.

They looked at Ivan in Hermione's arms in disbelief. They didn't know how he did it. How could a young wizard have such magical power?

In fact, even Dumbledore was like them.

A look of astonishment appeared on her face, and it was the first time Ivan had seen it on Dumbledore.

He didn't seem to have thought that Ivan would have such strong magic. For a 12 year old wizard, this was almost impossible.

Perceiving the look on the others' faces, Ivan didn't know what was going on.

Normally, he might have more magic than Harry and Hermione, but he should have much less than Sirius.

The four ways to increase magical power are natural growth with increasing age, increase after taking various potions, enhancement effects of magical items, and using dark magic to transform one's body.

Needless to say, when it came to natural growth, Ivan was only 12 years old, he belonged to the stage where body magic had just developed, and did not even reach the stage of rapid growth.

As for magic potions, although Ivan's actual level of magical power had increased considerably since last summer's vacation, far surpassing that of younger wizards his age, he should not be able to cause such an effect. Although he made several potions this year, and many of them helped to increase magic, but their effect was very small, and it would take a long time to see some progress.

As for the use of black magic to transform the body, that shouldn't even be mentioned.

Ivan had no knowledge of such advanced black magic, and there was no record of it even in the book 'Secrets of the Darkest Art'.

Although Ivan knew that such advanced Black Magic existed, he had no idea how such magic was used.

Besides Voldemort, no wizard had mastered this dark magic, not even Dumbledore.

Since none of those three were to consider, then only the magical objects remained.

Dumbledore had just said that the depth to which a ship sinks was not measured by weight, but by magical power.

Although Ivan did not feel that his magical power had increased significantly, he did not rule out the possibility that he was carrying very powerful magical items.

Ivan tried to remember what he had, and besides the wizard's robe and wand, there should be some pieces of candy that he had been carrying around since he bought them at the Honeydukes store, like that damn lollipop he couldn't eat.

Other than that, the things that weighed him down the most had to be those magical books.

Although Sirius offered his family's entire library as a Christmas present, allowing them to take whatever they were interested in, Ivan chose almost only Dark Arts books.

He shrunk them down and took them with him.

Before he took them away, these books of dark magic had been handed down by the Blacks for centuries. Many of them had not even been opened, and perhaps there was strong magical power or something hidden in the books.

Although this possibility was not that great, it could not be ruled out.

Besides, Ivan kept thinking about the Slytherin locket.

He remembered the Slytherin emblem, inlaid with emeralds, a capital S serpentine.
