Chapter 227: Forgotten Inheritance

Far from home, the arrangement of fate....

It was truly a naive idea for a girl of eleven or twelve, even if she herself was a terrifying vampire.

If fate were so serendipitous, she would most likely not find the person from the prophecy who could help her family out of their predicament, but because she hadn't sucked blood for a long time, she would be more likely to faint from starvation, or starve to death, or be discovered, identified as a vampire, and eventually detained in Azkaban.

From what Ivan thought, this should be her fate.

Now that the time was approaching the early morning hours, the Christmas Carnival in Diagon Alley was about to end. At that moment, she could only be alone in this dark alley, waiting for the person who was doomed to never appear....

Ivan wanted to help, but he didn't know what to do.

He couldn't take the girl back to the Leaky Cauldron and tell Lupin and Sirius that he accidentally picked up a vampire girl. Even though she was in such a pitiful state, he couldn't just pick her up, hoping they wouldn't tell anyone else.

Regardless of whether Lupin and Sirius would agree, the current scene wasn't quite appropriate for that. He was tied there with this girl's magic.

Looking at the situation, he was the one who needed help.

When Hermione came back, what would she think of this scene?

Besides, the girl had just said that she wouldn't leave until she found the man. During this time, she apparently regarded Ivan as a chat partner.

Or more accurately, a food that could be consumed at any time.

Now she endured the hunger and temptation of his blood. When she becomes too hungry and unable to restrain herself, she shouldn't worry about anything else. She would bite Ivan's neck and suck his blood. That's what a vampire would do.

Thinking about it, Ivan was trembling.

No matter what, his best bet to help the girl was to find the person mentioned in the prophecy as soon as possible, or find a way to escape from there.

"You're too naive. There are at least a few thousand wizards in Diagon Alley. There is no way to find him. It is impossible to determine which one. The person mentioned in your family's prophecy must have a more specific description, for example, a condition he must satisfy..." said Ivan.

"Since he can help my family in their difficulties, he must be a very powerful magician." The girl blinked with red eyes. She said remembering, "I heard from my uncle that the prophecy mentioned that the person would carry an object inherited from a family ancestor from a thousand years ago that would prove his identity."

"The ancestor from a thousand years ago, who was it?" Ivan paused for a moment wondering who the girl was talking about. Would it be a vampire from a thousand years ago?

"Salazar Slytherin!" The girl gently gave a name.

"What?!", If he wasn't bound in chains, Ivan would have jumped in his place.

He looked at the girl in astonishment. Salazar Slytherin was her ancestor, how could that be? how could Slytherin be a vampire?!!

This was simply nonsense. It was well known that the only surviving descendants of the Slytherins were the Gaunts, an ancient pureblood family famous for their restlessness and irritability.

To maintain the so-called pureblood line, they had been intermarrying with their close relatives for generations.

That was until Voldemort's mother, Merope Gaunt, who did not marry her brother or another pureblood wizard, but fell in love with a Muggle, Tom Riddle Sr. She bewitched him with the Love Potion, married him and eventually gave birth to Voldemort.

Voldemort is Salazar's sole successor, and of that he is very proud.

Now it's ridiculous for a vampire girl from God knows where to say that Salazar Slytherin was her family's ancestor.

"Salazar Slytherin was one of the founders of Hogwarts. Everyone knows all about him. He can't be a vampire!", Ivan looked at the girl. His voice was full of doubt.

Slytherin had almost everything to do with snakes. Like Voldemort, their descendants were almost all knowledgeable in the Parseltongue, but they had nothing to do with vampires.

Seeing Ivan's face, the girl knew he didn't believe her and was quick to argue, "Salazar isn't a vampire per se, but our family is actually direct descendants of Slytherin. If you don't believe that, you can look at my wand!"

He awkwardly rolled up his sleeves and pulled out the short wand.

Ivan noticed that inside his large sleeve, there was a special slot for the wand. The design was very clever. As long as the alignment position was correct, she could simply put the wand inside it and pull it out by surprise.

She looked at the wand carefully and couldn't tell why she felt it looked strangely familiar.

"Look at this!" The girl approached Ivan with the tip of her wand. It almost touched her eyes. "This is my family crest."

Ivan saw a strange pattern carved into the girl's wand. It was the Slytherin family crest, a snake like the letter S.

But it was different. In the upper right corner of the emblem was something resembling a bat.

"This is also the Slytherin family crest, and my wand is also made by imitation of Salazar's own wand." The girl explained, "In the family, the wand he used before was preserved for over a thousand years, I have seen it, it is a..."

"A silver wand, similar in shape to this one, with a bunch of little red lines on it, about ten inches long!" muttered Ivan.

The handsome young wizard, dressed in a dark green antique style, resurfaced in his mind, holding the striking silver-white wand.

Last year, Ivan returned to Hogwarts a thousand years ago and saw Salazar Slytherin and the wand in his hand.

The wand looked so special that it left a deep impression on him.

Ivan was amazed. No wonder he always felt that the wand in the girl's hand was familiar to him. It was originally made in imitation of the Slytherin wand.

That said, the words she just said were true, she was indeed a direct descendant of Slytherin. Salazar Slytherin's descendants inherited the items he had carried with him during his life, such as rings and lockets. There was no reason why the most important wand should not be inherited.

Though unbelievable, it was a fact.

A thousand years is too long a period, and anything can happen.

From the perspective of Slytherin's own characteristics, it was not impossible for one of his descendants to become a vampire through the "First Embrace" to gain more strength.

This descendant disappeared from the world due to the taboo status as a vampire, but his descendants have lurked in the shadows to this day.
