Chapter 315: Parseltongue and Hidden Secrets

Yes, this was the statue of Salazar Slytherin himself.

Surrounded by a silver band of light, he held a wand in his hand, and the end of the wand was tilted slightly downward, as if he were performing some magic. The expression on his face was extremely serious.

Unlike the Slytherin statue Ivan had seen before, this statue was neither the old, clumsy, ancient, ape-like man from the Chamber of Secrets, with a long, thin beard; nor the handsome, quiet, reserved middle-aged man who was in charge of everything. The Slytherin as a teenager.

He was even younger than the Slytherin, whom Ivan had met a thousand years ago. This statue should have been made when Salazar was about the same age as Ivan; or a little older, around fifteen or sixteen.

The face at the top of the statue had a solemn expression in addition to its handsome appearance. It gave off a sense of vigor and vitality, as well as an indescribable temper, a temper that was like a drawn sword, bright and exceptionally sharp.

"The noble and immortal Slytherin, who valued blood and honor, judged the situation, defended wisely and won supremacy..." Ivan couldn't help but whisper.

Though he was only a stone sculpture of Salazar in his youth, he perfectly reflected the qualities that Slytherin had long valued.

Even those who were against that house had to admit it.

Ivan looked at the statue carefully. He looked like Tom Riddle in his school days. He had black hair and was thin and tall, but he was more confident and full of the peculiar sense of medieval aristocracy.

The common denominator was that they both had a cold smile on their lips.

Ivan did not know what thoughts Voldemort would have upon seeing his ancestor. From the current situation, Ivan estimated that he had never been in this cave. This was also very similar to Voldemort's usual style. He thought he had mastered everything. He repudiated having a deep knowledge of magical creatures he despised and Muggle-born wizards.

But, in fact, he missed a lot of valuable things.

Ivan carefully scanned the surroundings, and under the pull of the Acromantula behind him, he slowly landed at the foot of the gigantic statue of Slytherin.

Like the Chamber of Secrets, the floor was paved with cyan marble.

Under the thick dust, the marble was carved with dark golden ornaments, silently telling the glory of the past.

In addition, there were various kinds of stone fragments on the floor.

Ivan stepped forward, raising his wand upward.

He found himself standing in the middle of a wide circular room in the basement, whose decorations had been damaged by the Acromantulas, and it was impossible to recognize their true features.

Silver-white plankton landed sporadically from the sky, like tiny starlight, scattered over the statue of Slytherin and the massive stone pillars surrounding it.

In the quiet, empty room, it stood alone.

The faint fluorescence emitted at the end of Ivan's wand seemed so small in the darkness, and the stone carvings that had remained unchanged for nearly a thousand years seemed to have stagnated.

In the absolute silence, he could clearly feel the impact of time.

Under the light of his wand, not far from Slytherin's feet, he saw a huge stone altar, carved with words, and Ivan moved closer to see it.

Like the surrounding decorations and walls, the altar had also been destroyed by Acromantulas, and split into several pieces, leaving only a huge base.

He picked up a slightly larger fragment and took it in his hand to look at it. The engraved text was very strange.

"This is..." Ivan seemed to think of something, and quickly flipped the Slytherin locket hanging on his chest, comparing the two.

They were all symbols, twisted like snakes. They were all words. As for the text on the Slytherin locket, Ivan studied it for a long time. He searched many books related to ancient magical patterns, but found no information about it.

However, in ancient astrology books, he found some clues.

In the center of the locket, the lines engraved around the green gemstones were all visual symbols and azimuths of ancient astrologers. These symbols related to astrological knowledge of the relative angles of the planets and their relationship to each other.

As it was too esoteric, Ivan was still working to solve it.

As for the other inscriptions on the reliquary, he had made no progress.

But when he saw the words on the broken stone altar and the surrounding scenes, Ivan had a flash of inspiration. Salazar Slytherin's most famous trait was the Parseltongue, so these unfamiliar words would have to be recognized by him speaking Parseltongue, as long as they agreed with Old English grammar....

He tried to read it, and there was a strange hissing sound in his mouth. It didn't make sense, but it sounded exactly like Harry when he used the Parseltongue.

"Yes, that's right, I should have thought of that!" Ivan clenched his fist. "These strange words of Salazar Slytherin's must have something to do with the Parseltongue. I spent months searching for ancient magic passed down from all over the world."

He quickly gathered up all the broken stones and put them in his pocket. He was ready to go back and restore them to their original state. He could let Harry see them and maybe make a breakthrough and find out why Slytherin left a legacy here and the old words in the locket.

Ivan remembered the vampire girl named Elaine Slytherin, and the prophecy she mentioned....

He waited until he collected all the stones and calmed down before moving on.

In the empty room, only Ivan's footsteps echoed in the darkness, and he walked for about five minutes in the direction indicated by the wand on the Slytherin statue.

In front of him was a huge stone door. The decorations and cracks were exactly the same as those Ivan had seen in his dreams. He remembered that behind the door was the monster, the secret hidden for almost a thousand years, and the huge blood-red eyes....

Ivan increased his vigilance. The stone door was not open.

On the door were two intertwined snakes with large, glowing emeralds in their eyes.

They were very similar to the two snakes above the door of the Chamber of Secrets in the castle, but the style of the two snakes was simpler, just like that of a shrinking basilisk.

If Harry were here, he could use the Parseltongue to command the two snakes to open the stone door.

Ivan couldn't do it, but there should be another entrance. He took the bottle containing Aragog out of the pack, "Aragog, I have arrived at the subway ruins, and I am facing a huge locked stone door. How can I get in here?"

"Follow my children, Hagrid's friend! As the voice commanded, we opened an entrance in the far wall. Click, click, click" Said Aragog faintly, "Right there, we used to take captured prey through that crack over there...."
