Chapter 13: Moonlight Lullaby
Just a normal day just like everyday, Kayden's third period after the Prestige class is Band. However, the special thing of the day is Maria has changed her schedule from Drawing to Band. Somehow, the officer decides to put Maria in the same class as Kayden.
"What instrument are you playing?". Maria asked Kayden, she gradually pulled out a violin from her enormous chest.
"Oh, it's an instrument of my ancestors". Kayden touched strings softly. "It has a similar appearance as the 16-chord zither in Ancient Asian Culture. But this one only has 14 strings".
"Interesting". Maria's eyes opened luminously looking at the ancestral instrument. "What is it made of?".
"Jade and Aquamarine. About the strings, they are made of Siren silk". Kayden introduced it. "Siren silk is a rare type of silk that is created from 100 years old pearls. That's why it's super expensive".
"Can you play me a song?". Maria held up the violin on her shoulder. "If you're shy, then I'll go first".
Before Kayden could say anything, Maria played the violin right away.
The melody flows smoothly, although it sounds really sad. It's like a heartbreaking love story. It's not dramatic, it feels like the creator of this musical piece is missing someone terribly, and words can't even describe their emotion.
"Is it 'Forget Me Not' from UNITE?" - It took Kayden a minute to recognize the song.
"You listen to UNITE too???". Maria looked really surprised.
"I'm not a fan but I do listen to several good songs". Kayden replied playfully.
"That's amazing, you passed the vibe check". Maria gave Kayden a thump up. "It's your turn, play me a good song".
"I'll let your heart feel the sound of ocean waves". Kayden started to hit the string.
The song he plays is the 'Moonlight Lullaby', one of the most powerful songs of Siren culture. The melody of this song can tame all sea creatures. Moonlight Lullaby is a song with a tranquil tone and silky melody. It heals emotional wounds, trauma, and it helps release stress and calming down beings.
"I can literally feel like the Goddess is hugging me and telling me that things are going to be just fine". Maria took a deep breath.
"I know, it's a Siren cultural song, it's beautiful, isn't it?". Kayden smiled peacefully.

While in Esserine's third period, she's doing alchemy. Yes, Esserine is following her mother's path, becoming the greatest witch of all the time. She knows that it's not going to be easy, nonetheless, she has faith.
Alchemy is extremely difficult, it requires students to be good at Mathematics, Chemistry, and having the basic knowledge of magic. Being persistent and having a good memory would be awesome.
Today Esserine is learning about 'Elemental Reaction'. There are 4 basic elements that create life and our environments. They are Pyro (Fire), Geo (earth), Hydro (water), and Anemo (Air). Without these 4, our planet wouldn't be able to live.
"Let's try this one". Esserine poured out a beaker of flaring elements into the cauldron of water. Then she dropped a piece of plant fossil into the mixture and stirred them up.
After a while when the pot is filled with steam, she adds a drop of Sky Dragon's blood to the magical cauldron, and she closes it with a lid.
15 minutes later, when all the hot air fades away, Esserine opens the cauldron to check. What a talented girl, she's as amazing as her mom.
"Ah, the sphere of life". Esserine put the viridescent mini ball into a pouch. She handed it to her Professor. "Professor Elderberry, I've successfully completed the lab!".
"Well done". Professor Elderberry complemented Esserine. "Oh dear, you're gifted". This was the second time in the Academy that someone had created the sphere of life successfully in the first time of doing Alchemy.
Professor Elderberry's eyes are filled with cheerful tears. She knows this must be a good omen. Oglourine Academy has another gifted Alchemist.

In Phoebe's class, she's studying about Technology, how to hack into a system and disable the security system. Her first project of the month is also related to this lesson too. So that's why she's super focused on her assignments.
Phoebe is well at doing Mathematics and Physics. She loves manufacturing new robotic systems and proficient machines for humans and against hostile beings.
Her teacher of this class is Mr. Raven, the commander of the Oglourine Academy's tech team. He's one of co-founders of the Oglourine Academy, and also one of the most genius technologists in the world.
