A hell of a drive

"Impressive isn't it," she whispers.

"The car's quite eye-catching I must say."

"Are you gonna feast your eyes just like that or do you have any intention to come in."

I clamber in the car quickly, I look around this is my dream car luxuriously crafted in anticipation of your every need, the exceptional comfort I'm awed.

"You own this car Juri," I ask.

"Of course isn't that obvious, ren."

"This is my dream car Juri, I'm thrilled," I whisper in joy.

The RX 450hl seats up to 7 people comfortably and pairs a V6 3.5-litre direct injection engine with a powerful, self-charging electric motor to deliver 230 kW with maximum fuel efficiency.

"Well, that's obvious it's Lexus electric hybrid."

"Can I drive this Juri?" I asked politely.

"Of course not, just sit here and watch me drive instead," she grins.

She starts the engine and turns the music on, I close my eyes and feel my muscles relax at the soothing routine, my mind reacts to music very much like other stimuli, the rhythm of the car is lulling me to sleep, is it because of her driving, she's driving so smooth last night she was driving me crazy, we reach out of the society.

As you might expect from one of the world's biggest and most bustling cities, where should we go shopping there's an endless choice, I stare at Juri who is driving and singing and seems as happy as calm. That look is exquisite and is sending shivers down my spine.

"You sing beautifully Juri, are you professional" I whisper.

"Haha, why do you say that," she gazes at me and stopped singing.

"Well don't stop on my account, it was so soothing and entertaining," I said grinning.

"I still can't believe you own this car," I gaze at her.

"Well, technically it's my boyfriend's car, sam, but it will still take you where you wanna go," she frowns.

"Your boyfriend must be born with a silver spoon in his mouth," I peek at her.

"He's just a crazy rich brat," she said with a low voice while looking at me.

"A lucky bastard then," I snap, she giggles.

"So, why did pretend to be drunk that night," I ask out of the blue and the atmosphere of the car plunges its form.

"What are you saying," her mind is scattered as if she had lost the ability to think.

"You know very well Juri," I gaze deep into her eyes.

"It's not what you think ren, I was drunk and I had."

"And you had an argument with your boyfriend, isn't that right Juri," I murmured.

"Holy hell, how do you know ren," she said as if my words send chills down her spine.

"Just because I play dumb doesn't mean that I am," I murmured with utmost sincerity.

"I'm not mad at you, I just wanna know the truth Juri" I add quickly.

"When I left the elevator I went straight to meet him in a bar but he wasn't there that was strange and guess what."

"What?" I asked.

"A friend of mine send me a couple of pictures of him, he was enjoying with her ex in a nightclub."

"Well that does explain why were you drunk or pretended to be drunk, is that what really happened Juri," I glare at her suspiciously.

"Don't you even trust me that much," she said with her shaking voice.

"I would if I could but trust is earned you can't magically hand it over to someone," a wicked grin appears on my face.

"Why didn't you do anything that night, you could do everything you ever desired but you didn't, why ren?" She asked with an intrigued voice.

"Well, for one thing in spite of ravenous hunger, my dignity wouldn't allow it, when I saw you in the elevator I saw a glimmer of hope that you are an exception," I muttered without blinking my eye.

"Would you believe me ren, if I say I had the same exact feeling when you left my apartment," she gazes at me not taking her eyes off mine.

We both stare at each other without saying a word and the atmosphere in the car plunges from bitterness to sweetness.

"Well you better look straight Juri, I don't wanna die just after knowing how similar our senses of values are," I muttered.

"What about you're girlfriend ren," she asks politely.

"If you wanna fill the vacancy, I will take that under consideration," I whispered with an alluring grin on face.

"I'm just asking a simple question," she whispers.

"It has been 6 months since I have spoken to her, still all of it does feel like yesterday," I struggle to quell my nerves not to dwell on past, I retreat to countless overwhelming memories.

She held my hand, her eyes are gleaming with sympathy, I feel tingly all over and for some reason, it feels good.

"Hey it's alright, you can tell me how you feel ren," her voice is sympathetic.

"It all feels more like a burden, somehow I'm figuring out not to think about her but the more I struggle to forget the more it rushes out of the surface," I mutter to gain as much sympathy as I possibly can.

"Hey you alright ren, hey look at me….look at me, it's okay to feel sorrowful, one thing I know about feelings is that it changes so don't worry okay," she mutters sympathetically?

"I just don't know when will I get rid of this unending sequence of agonising torture, perhaps it'll not end till the day I perish."

"You don't have to forget it all ren, remember when resistance set you trapped, acceptance set you free," she murmurs as if she were in my shoe.

"Thanks, Juri for your creasing words, I really appreciate it," I smile at her and she smiles back.

For some reason I feel disgraceful that I used Emi as a key to unlock the door, the door of happiness, sentiment and everything thing that I have ever dreamed of, for a brief moment I allow myself to contemplate… In the glimmer of my belief, sagacity, if I did interpret that right could she be the light of my life…
