YOU PROMISE

Brent checked his time, he had gone almost an hour, 'That fool had to bump into me and now I am delayed. Dear God, I hope she hasn't fallen asleep, I know she is tired and hungry."

With both hands full, he pressed the doorbell and waited excitedly. When she didn't come to open the door, he rested the gift bags down and reached into his pocket to extract his keys.

About to insert the key the door flies open. All he heard her say was, "I am sorry, I was in the laundry room."

'Not a problem, come on, let us celebrate, "Jessy noticed how excited he was and the many lunch boxes and the bottle of wine.

After dinner she relaxed cuddled in his embrace, she seemed very tired. Brent checked his time once more, seeing he had forty-five minutes before his appointment with the Pastor.

"Sweetheart, I got you a gift so I need you to hurry up and put it on." Seeing her looking around, he smiled when he himself had forgotten he rest the bags outside.

Jessy recalled he only came in with the lunch boxes. She was feeling groggy but his words caused her to become fully awake.

Seeing how dazzling her grape-like eyes were, just like a deep pool, he was so drawn to it, but he stood up ignoring the burning desire before he forgot his appointed time.

Brent walked towards the door, Jessy on the other hand thought he was leaving.

From a child, her parents always showered her with many beautiful gifts. Being away from home for almost eight months, she suddenly felt a loneliness zoom in.

Seeing him step out the door she thought he was angry or leaving and she wanted to know what gift he got her.

She called out to him, "BJ, didn't you say you bought me a gift, where is it, and why are you leaving so early?"

Fear gripped her heart thinking his proposal was just a sham, when he reentered the living room his hands were full of gift bags.

Seeing the smile on his face, she brushed the tears away and grabbed onto him. "Sweetheart, what is wrong? And why the tears?"

"I thought you lied to me and your proposal was a sham when I saw you leaving." Brent, hugged her gently stroking her back. "Didn't I say I love you, or don't you trust me? Now here are the gift bags go and get dressed quickly."

When Jessy came out of the room Brent held his breath, he couldn't take his eyes off her, her beauty was beyond his expectations. The dress fits her perfectly and the slight make-up makes her even more beautiful. Johanna and Roxanna were beautiful but my would-to-be wife surpassed them by miles.

"Let us go, I already spoke to your Pastor and he agreed to marry us." Brent saw her eyes glow and radiate a happiness that was unexplainable. At that moment he felt like he was the happiest man in the world.

Having gotten his heart's desire he drove straight to the Church. After a small neat wedding, with the Pastor, his wife as Jessy's witness and the Janitor who stood as my witness, Jessy asked them to condone their wishes and not reveal their secret.

Brent and Jessy stood in front of the church and the Pastor took some pictures of them then they left for the apartment.

Not long after they reached the apartment, Brent was hoping that the fire that was lit inside of him could be dowse.

After opening the front door, Brent scooped Jessy up bridal style and entered the apartment, closing the door with his foot. Her hand clung around his neck, but all that was on her mind was how was she going to turn him away seeing the excitement and glow that had caused his handsome face to shine even brighter.

In the bedroom, Brent rests her down on the bed, Jessy says, "Now that you have gotten your wish, I hope you will help me fulfil my promise which is still undone. Will you do that for me?"

Unaware of what was on her mind he didn't even ponder her question for a minute before he replied, "Anything you want now that you are my wife I will make it happen."

Hugging him, "You promise?"
