THE DAY WAS RUINED

Brent Senior smiles in his heart, he has been contemplating this matter but didn't want to disappoint his wife, but this news of his son's disapproval has overwhelmed his heart.

At that moment he was interested to know what was on his Son's mind, asking out of curiosity, "Son, your mother said that Rosanna told her, that you and she are into each other and we were going to visit her parents to discuss your marriage?"

Brent had never seen his son so furious, noticing his lip twitching and his hand clenched so tightly that it looked white.

Unable to restrain himself any longer he snapped and glared at Rosanna, "That's it, I am tired of people meddling in my life."

Following Junior up the stairs he said, "Son, will you calm down, your Mother is still sleeping, tell me what is the matter."

Without Jonior saying a word, Brent Senior could see the rage from the way he kept knocking at her door loudly.

When he calls out and says, "Mom, I need to speak with you, right now," knocking two more times "Mom, I am coming in."

Entering the room "You wanted something, Junior?" Seeing his mom stretch out on the bed so lazily.

Brent forgot his love for her for a minute and said, "Mom, what nonsense I am hearing?"

She seemed happy when she said, "Please enlighten me, my son, because I have no idea what you are talking about?"

Florence was slightly confused especially the way he was dressed so early on a Sunday. Most Sundays he rises after ten. "Mom, Dad said the two of you are going to discuss my marriage today, is that true?"

Seeing the bright smile, "Yes, Junior, I spoke to Rosanna last night and she said she loves you."

"Loves me! Are you both out of your mind? How can you think I will love someone like her? Mom, listen to me carefully, showing kindness to people gives them the wrong impression, and she could say anything, but the truth is, I don't love her, I am in love with someone else."

"What?"Rosanna's outburst got the three of their attention immediately as they all turned toward the door.

Exaggerated, Brent said, "You see, no manners whatsoever, always butting in where she should be quiet, but yes, for your information, if truth be told, I am in love with someone else, not you."

Brent Senior blinked still in shock from what he was hearing, in his mind all he wanted was for his Son to marry that young lady who served refreshments in the office. She is the most suitable and appropriate person for his Son, but Florence disapproves of her.

When Rosanns said, "I am sure it's that stupid little twit?"

Observing how quickly Junior asks, "Now, can you tell me, what in God's name you are talking about?"

Florence and Brent were still in a panic state of mind, "You know exactly who I am talking about?" Rosanna responded.

Both looking at each other, Florence's heart jolted knowing Rosanna was talking about the refreshment girl.

Brent Senior on the other hand was rejoicing thinking that what Rosanna was suggesting, meant that it was the refreshment girl.

Brent notices their faces knowing he is not going to get their approval and Jessy will be ridiculed.

"Sorry, but I don't have the faintest idea who you are speaking about, so spit it out and let us resolve this matter once and for all?"

Rosanna didn't hesitate to voice her opinion, "You know, that waitress girl, the one you get to serve the committee, you do know who I am speaking about now, right?"

Looking at his Mom seeing how her face furrowed in dissatisfaction and disapproval was written all over, he considered the thought of revealing the truth just for a split second, then decided against it.

"Yes, I know who you are speaking about now, and I believe you are completely losing your mind. I will not waste any more time discussing this matter again, and Mom if you continue to push me to make a decision, I promise you that I will get married and you and Dad will not be included.."

Glancing at his Dad seeing how sad his face looked, wondering if he would approve of Jessy. Deciding not to linger around he stormed out of the house, 'Once again she had ruined my day, how I hate her?'
