THE SHORT END OF THE STICK

When Brent calmed down a bit, he turned his back walking to the French, floor-to-ceiling window, and said, unable to hold his tolerance toward her. "Miss John you need to know your place, from this day forward. Don't ever let it slip your mind that this is my Company, and this is my last warning. Whatever decision I make is final and you or anyone else has no right to question my decision. I have tolerated it in the past and allowed others to think they can freely make suggestions. However, remember you are my secretary and nothing more.

As you know Miss Blake was rostered to go on today's field trip, but due to her injury, Miss Albert will be filling in for her to visit the factory. Another thing, I observed from the surveillance footage. The accident this morning with Miss Blake occurred in front of your office. So can you explain why Miss Albert was there to assist Miss Blake and you ignored her when you were right there? "

Clinching her fist tightly, Lystra felt her palm pain, this tone of voice and rejection he spoke was darn well outright an open threat and rejection.

Wishing the earth could open up and swallow her whole, just to remove this embarrassment. With her head bent Lystra scolded herself for being negligent. "Let me tell you for the last time, if there is another complaint or incident in the office, I will fire every one of you and hire new workers, is that clear?"

He wanted to say his dad had taken Jessy two weeks ago with him, and she did an excellent job, but from her expression, he realized she had a thing against Jessy and she is just his secretary, and he doesn't have to be civilize towards her or give any explanation.

Coming to a simple realization at that moment, 'Just supposed she had planned to hurt Jessy.' Brent then turned around suddenly and instructed her to contact all the heads of Security from the different departments that they needed to attend a meeting immediately in the board room.

Seeing her nodding her head, she looked like a lost puppy. Brent's heart sank knowing he had never dealt with his staff rashly, but Jessy is my wife and recently there were always unforeseen incidents and accidents that seemed to always involve Jessy and Miss John

Brent considers why she feels she could question his authority and judgment, am I too lenient that she feels she can control me and my decision?

"Never mind that, Miss Albert can learn, that is the purpose I selected her. My Dad took her two weeks ago, due to the training and his report was, that she did an excellent job, now go and inform her, right now?"

Walking into the staff room, Lystra was dissatisfied with the way Boss reprimanded her, and to top it off he was taking her on the field trip.

Having no choice she had to follow his instructions. Taking her rage out on Jessy she said rudely, " You, feel you are very clever?"

Confused by Miss John's behavior, Jessy said, "If I know why you are venting your rage out towards me, I might be able to redeem myself, but I have no idea."

Jessy was never the person to take the short end of the stick though matter who the person is. She notices how angry Lystra is and the way she verbally accuses her,

Knowing she had no good intentions when her outburst comes, "Being nice to Boss, bringing his breakfast and lunch."

Jessy couldn't help but smile when she responded, "Do you have a problem with that?"

Lystra gritted her teeth, not expecting her to respond with such boldness, "Yes, I do."

Jessy on the other hand didn't want to argue or bring about any conflict to put Brent in a difficult position.

Taking a short way out she said, "Okay, from tomorrow you bring his meals I don't care, I will get half an hour extra rest and when the week comes I get paid, is that all you come to tell me?"

"No, Boss said to get a notepad, you are going on a field trip with him."

Unable to contain her happiness and outburst, "I am, thank you so much, I thought the day would never reach?"

Shocked by what she was hearing, Lystra knew her suspicion was right, "You had this plan all the time?"
