Adrian’s POV
“Hello, you’re very busy these days. I went to your office yesterday, but you were not here,” Diane said. “Finally, I caught you.”
“Oh, hi, Diane,” I said. “I’m sorry, I’m quite busy. You should have called me if you needed anything.”
“I wanted to talk to you personally,” she said.
“Tell me what I can help you with?” I asked, looking at her sitting on the couch. “Do you want anything first? I will ask Mary Ann.” I checked my watch. “But I think Mary Ann is preparing to leave now. Do you want to go out for snacks? It’s too early for dinner yet.”
“Okay.” Diane nodded. “If it’s okay with you.”
“No worries,” I said and smiled. “My work can wait if what you’re going to say is really important.”
We went to a snack bar. I ordered pineapple juice while Diane ordered a strawberry milkshake.
“So tell me, what is it that you have to meet me personally?” I asked
“I need your help,” she said shyly.
