After so many years, Asmo showed his face up again. He finally found a weak spot in me. One I created myself.

C: My phone rings... Unknown.
C: Hello. Who is it?
Ms. Nagisa: It's me. Julia Nagisa.
C: Ms. Nagisa! How can I help?
Ms. Nagisa: My boy is a bit busy with homework and, I was just wondering, can you help me out?
C: Of course. I'll be right there.
Hmmm. I wonder what's all this about. Well, at least I will be near Keitaro. After 30 minutes or so, I arrived at their house.
Ms. Nagisa: It's good to see you. Come in.
C: Umh. So how can I help?
Ms. Nagisa: We gonna have a lot of guests tonight. I was hoping you might help me in the kitchen.
C: Where can I start?
Ms. Nagisa: Start by chopping carrots there.
It was a huge pile. Carrots, potatoes, onions, and what else. I grabbed the kitchen knife at started chopping everything at record speed.
C: Ok. I'm done.
Ms. Nagisa: Already. That was fast. Let me see.
She approached me with a shock on her face.
Ms. Nagisa: You chopped up everything already? You are fast. You must be a great deal of help for your parents in the kitchen.
C: Yes... Something like that. Why do we need so much food?
Ms. Nagisa: You don't know? It's Thanksgiving.
C: Thanksgiving?
Ms. Nagisa: Did you forget about it or something?
C: I just...
K: Cornelia! What are you doing here?
C: Keitaro. Your mom asked for some help in the kitchen.
Ms. Nagisa: Your girlfriend is quite the help. She did a job in 10 minutes that would have taken me 1 hour.
I smiled awkwardly at Keitaro in the hope he wouldn't kill me.
Ms. Nagisa: I will be fine here from now on. Thanks for the help. And make sure you stay for dinner.
C: Ok...
We went up the stairs into Keitaro's room, and I sat down on his bed.
C: Don't look at me like that. I only wanted to help.
K: It's ok if you help but don't overdo it.
C: Ok, ok... I'll try.
K: Good. I heard you will stay for dinner. You are part of the family, after all.
C: Family...
K: Is something the matter?
C: I... never had a family before. That is also why I don't celebrate Thanksgiving. I have nothing to be thankful for.
C: ... Are you sure I need to stay here?
K: Why are you saying that?
C: Other than you. I don't have anyone to say thanks to...
K: There must be someone.
C: No... Not really.
K: Who raised you? You were a newborn when you were left alone.
C: I had a partner. We worked together for 1025 years. But he died in a battle against Lucifer.
K: Can you tell me about your past a little more?
C: It's a long story.
K: We have at least 2 hours.
C: Then I'll tell you the short version.
He sat down beside me, listening to every word I had to say.
C: Then I'll start from the beginning so you can understand everything.
C: Lunari are born from magic. The magic has to come from a Lunari and another magical being. That said, Lunari can have multiple parents.
C: For my birth, I had three parents. The Queen of the Lunari. The High Priestess. And a Lord of Nightmares... A high-ranking demon.
K: But why would your parents combine their powers with a demon?
C: I don't know.
C: When I was born, I already looked like this. We Lunari never looked like babies.
C: The moment I was born, my parents hid me. They sent me to Earth. Since I was a newborn with almost no power, the ones who attacked us didn't notice me.
C: To reclaim my parent's memories, I would have to become a full-on Lunari.
K: So why don't you do that?
C: To become a true Lunari, one must catch a magical being and imprison it within themselves. Then the ritual would purify that creature and take its powers and it to my own.
K: You seem strong enough to endure it.
C: I have a high-tier demon. The Forgotten one in me. Maybe even stronger than me.
C: There is also my mother's legacy. The power of a Queen.
C: The High Priestess's power...
C: My father, The Lord of Nightmare's powers. His power comes from the sea of chaos, the source of all demons.
C: And since my people are dead, their soul's combined power would be mine as well.
K: Just how much power is that ???
C: To my current powers? Like a teardrop in the ocean. There is maybe a one percent chance that I would live.
K: I understand now...
C: That is my story. I was just a newborn when my parents left me. My partner raised me. He died two years before we met in camp. He was a Sol. A follower of the Sun. The last of his kind... Just like me.
K: He must have been a good friend.
C: More. He was like a brother to me.
K: You can be thankful for them.
C: You're right... Maybe there is someone I can be thankful for.
Ms. Nagisa: Dinner is ready! And everyone is waiting for you!
K: Well then. I guess it's time to introduce my girlfriend to her new family members.
C: Lucky me.
K: No. I'm the lucky one.
