Painting

Hallie didn't have any choice except obeying him because she was too tired for a drama and it will look weird if she doesn't listen to her so-called husband-to-be, right?

They both started walking towards the dark hallways which seems endless to her, she just wanted this day to end as today was nothing but full of embarrassment.

Just in a few seconds, they both vanished in the darkness leaving James with a smirk on his face. 'There is surely something wrong with this girl but whatever this is, I am going to have her now.'

Darius dragged Hallie through the hallways and was muttering something but she couldn't hear anything. Her eyes fell on paintings which were hanging in the hallways. 'They are freaking beautiful.' She thought to herself. It was then when her eyes fell on a particular painting that the word 'Beautiful' disappeared from her mind.

A girl was there on the ground begging, to a....Her eyes went wide with the horror. That girl was begging to man no not a man or maybe a man. She doesn't know what it was but it was looking more like a beast rather than a human. She couldn't describe but his sight made her stomach twist and she felt like puking. He was surrounded by a pool of blood and he was laughing like a complete maniac which was showing his long teeth.

It was difficult to not notice that painting since it was so big. "Stop looking at that painting." Darius's heavy voice interrupted her trails of thoughts. She wasn't able to find the meaning behind this painting.

Darius stopped. "I said stop thinking about that painting otherwise you want yourself on the place of that girl." He gritted through his teeth.

She turned around to see his handsome face, totally opposite of the beast or man she saw earlier in that painting. "Why? What's wrong? I mean it's not like I was going to ask you about that painting but you tell me if you want." She said.

Darius rolled his eyes, "You've got a really big mouth. Aren't you?"

"Apparently." She chuckled.

"Stop laughing and listen to me." He growled. At first Hallie got scared but she managed to balanced her composure in time. "Why the hell should I listened to you? Remember, we are NOT married yet." She growled back.

'I thought she would be afraid of me.' He clenched his hands into fists.

"What happened? Did you think I will be afraid of you? Let me clear one thing, I might have came here to marry you but it's not my personal choice. I am doing this because of my father."

"Ahh really? And what about deal I made with your father? Didn't he sell you to me for some gold and ammunitions?" He raised his one eyebrow while curling up his lips into his usual devislish smile.

"He might have sold me off but you can't treat me like a thing, I am also a human just like you." She screamed.

'That's where she is wrong.'

"And if you did anything to me against my will or treated me like sh*t, I'll not stay quite." Hallie continued.

"Feisty okay. And did you think about me, what I'll do if you do anything reckless?" He said while ruffling his shining blue hairs to the back.

"What can you do the most? Kill me, right? Well I don't care cause I am already dead. I died at that time when my father agreed to sell me." Her eyes became watery but she didn't let her tears drop. She couldn't let him see how weak and vulnerable she is now.

She turned around to leave when Darius grabbed her wrists and pull her into his arms. She still was not facing him but she could listened to his heart which was beating steadily against her back.

"You don't have to act so strong. I know what you are feeling and what you are thinking. " He sighed near her neck, his breathe was cold as ice
