Darius left completely helpless at this time. He knew he couldn't take the risk of developing feelings for her but his determination for his mission seems to shatter now. He shook his head and tries to focus on his target. He has to take his revenge for his mother, Sarah's death. His stupid father thinks that it was his fault that she got killed by those ugly beasts but now he was going to take what his father wasn't able to. Their life. Their souls.
He will end those pathetic creatures and for that, only Hallie can help him. She has got some special power which she isn't aware of. And maybe he even has to sacrifice her life to do so. No matter how much he is attracted to her, he shouldn't forget why he had brought her here.
He went to his room where he found Hallie oiling her hairs. Darius went near the mirror where she was sitting with her eyes closed. 'God, how am I able to resist her?' He found himself looking at her more than usual. Hallie opened her eyes and found him staring at her in the mirror. She turned around, "Can't you knock or make a sound while coming in? You just gave me a heart-attack." She said irritatingly.
Darius came to his senses and realizes that he stared her for too long and now she is going to eat his head. Not that he mind but still. He started walking towards his bed, "This is my room. I can come in whatever the way I want."He said while unbuttoning his shirt.
"Oh God, you are so shameless. Go to the bathroom, you idiot."He suddenly stopped and turned around with a furious look on his face. "What did you just called me?"
"Looks like you are also deaf. I called you and Idiot. Happy now?" Hallie said while taking a pillow from the bed.
"You really don't know who you are dealing with."He said with a mischievous smile forming on his face.
"Oh, I know but I have already told you the reason of my behavior." She chuckled. Hallie was not behaving normally, usually she is quite and polite but now it seems like something wicked happened to her and is behaving so carelessly not knowing what would be his actions after that.
Darius came closer and closer, leaving a gap of only an inch between their bodies. "And what was that reason, darling?" He lifted his right hand near her face and brushed her cheeks with his thumb. His fingers were cold yet warming. The touch of him aroused her deep desire which she had never knew she had. Their eyes locked, they were staring in each other eyes like there is no tomorrow. Darius had never felt this type of calmness before. He felt like he could stare into beautiful pair of hazel eyes forever. But unfortunately, this didn't last long.
"Why?" Hallie spoke, her eyes becoming once again teary.
A frowned formed between his eyebrows. "Why me? Why do you want to marry me? I am pretty sure, there would be tons of gorgeous women who would be dying to marry you, who would be more than happy to be with you. So why me? Why you had to choose me?" she completed her sentence and that's when she broke into tears.
She sat on the ground, crying. She didn't wanted to cry but now she couldn't control her emotions. It was like her heart would burst out with all the frustration she has been controlling till now.
"I'll tell you when the time comes." He bent down on his knees and held out a hand for her to hold but Hallie shoved him away. He fell on the ground on his back, but instead of getting angry he chuckled. 'I guess, I deserved that.' He murmured. He got up and sat in front of her, "You know, you are weird. I literally saved your a*s from getting married to that moron." He put both of his hands back to the ground and leaned backward by the support of his hands.
Hallie, who was looking down till now, lifted her head to meet his eyes. Her eyes were red and swollen with all that crying. He thinks he is doing a favour b y marrying her?
"Are you serious?" She spoke, Her voice was a little rough.
"Yeah, I mean, you also know that he is a jerk and only care about women and liquor. And…" Before he could finish himself, Hallie instantly spoke.
"Are you any better?"
