Iren looked at the body of the young man who was running fast away from him. "It's good to be young!" Smiling, Iren said to himself.
As Tsaehorng's figure receded into the distance, Iren reconsidered everything he had seen in the blueprint that was then in Tsaehorng's hands. The plan was very clear and easy to remember. Therefore, it wasn't difficult for Iren to determine the direction when he was walking after Tsaehorng.
Even though he tried to walk fast, like other men who were over forty years old, Iren couldn't walk at high speed continuously. Especially when he was carrying a large bag that was quite heavy. Therefore, Iren ended up just walking as fast as he could. He did this so that Tsaehorng would not wait there too long.
At ten past four, Iren finally arrived at a point fifty meters from the payphone box he was headed for. He stopped walking when he saw Tsaehorng, who immediately greeted him. Apparently, the young man had walked away from the phone box, down the road the way he had come. His face was so bright.
"How was it?" Iren held Tsaehorng's arm.
"That's all right, Uncle. I got there just as the phone in the box rang."
"What did they say?"
"They told us to go to another place immediately. So now we must go directly to that other place, Uncle!"
"Ah!" Iren complained in a loud voice. Already imagined in his mind he should run again. He didn't know how far he could still run.
"It takes a long time to reach there on foot. So we have to drive there. Let me carry this bag, Uncle." In a flash, Tsaehorng took Songfei's bag from Iren's hand.
Iren let Tsaehorng took the bag. "Thank you. But, the package containing this food, I'm the one who holds it. I'm not that tired."
"All right, Uncle. Let's get back to the car."
Iren took a deep breath. Just as he got there, he had to walk again. Luckily, Tsaehorng had parked his car some distance from where they had been standing when they first waited for the kidnappers. The car park was actually closer to where they were. Not too close, actually, about two hundred meters from there. But that was enough relief for Iren.
Tsaehorng walked at a below average pace. The young man seemed to walk a bit slowly on purpose so Iren could keep up.
"You don't have to walk this slowly. If you need to, you can run. The sooner you get to the car, the better. When you get to the car, you can wait for me. Or, if we have to take this road to get to where we are going, then you come back here in your car."
"Alright, Uncle!"
Tsaehorng then started running again. Iren realized that this time, Tsaehorng ran not as fast as before. Maybe, apart from being a bit tired, he also had to carry Songfei's big bag.
"Eh? Why didn't he hand the bag back to me? That way he could run faster," muttered Iren.
Iren kept walking. A moment later, Tsaehorng and his car appeared.
"Come on in, Uncle!"
