Sneaking In The Crowd

"Ugh..." Alisha stretched her body after a good night's sleep. Her eyes fell on Arzlan who was pensively staring at the sun. "What are you thinking?"

"Hmm?" Arzlan turned to Alisha, the sharp and sinister gaze he usually gave her. "I just had a strange feeling! It's best if today we find a village that might be able to help in obtaining equipment!"

Alisha nodded.

The journey started before noon, not the village they found but a fairly large city. Arzlan's eyes narrowed, he understood that going to the city would likely meet one of the four people he had ever known, if possible he didn't want to see their faces for now.

***

Nactarian City, that city has a population of 7500 inhabitants, a city located in the eastern part of the Scaevola Kingdom.

The city is considered a paradise for adventurers because it is very strategically located with the Demon King's territory, if they go to the north they will enter a very dangerous area.

Alisha and Arzlan have to walk covering their heads with hoodies, it's very dangerous for those who are outsiders to walk in the middle of a sea of human cities. Alisha who is a Half Elf will definitely be quickly considered as a strange being that must be caught, while Arzlan doesn't want people from the palace to recognize him.

Their just only want to buy equipment for fighting, there was no point in them doing anything else.

"Uh?" Arzlan immediately pushed Alisha into a narrow alley.

"What is it?" asked Alisha who was surprised by Arzlan's behavior.

"Calm down!"

"Hehe… Mr. Adred, we'll be able to defeat the monsters in the east and get a pretty big achievement!"

"Yes!"

Adred's group is about to cross paths with Arzlan, this is a strong reason for Arzlan to choose to avoid them.

They were forced to enter a fairly narrow and quiet alley, they had never been to the city before because of that they felt like in a labyrinth. Different from the bustling city conditions, it was so quiet there that no crowds could be heard.

"Hehehe… what are you guys doing in a quiet place like this!"

A big man had blocked them, from his face they could already tell that the person was a ruffian who had deliberately blocked their way.

"What do you want?" asked Arzlan in a cold tone.

"Hooh… it seems you are a newcomer so your speaking style is not decent, I am the owner of the territory here, usually people will pay right away when they meet me!"

"Heh...."

"What are you laughing at?" snapped the man, Arzlan's smile was a sign that he was being humiliated, he really didn't like that smile.

"You're nothing more than a mutt who likes to bully other creatures, do you think every creature is a weak cat you can face?"

"You talk a lot!" The man immediately took out his sword and swung the sword very quickly.

Things!!!

The sword was snapped by Arzlan's parry using his sword.

"You bastard… do you want to challenge a great man like me?"

Arzlan really didn't like the man's words, the words that came out of his mouth were very annoying. "Oi, pig!" Arzlan unsheathed his sword, a powerful aura instantly spread out with his eyes glaring sharply. "Let me warn you, do you want today to be your death?"

"Ugh..." The man clenched his teeth, in fact his body had responded to choose to run away rather than continue to face Arzlan. "Shit, why am I scared like this? It was because he was already giving off such a huge aura? I have to put an end to this, he must be just bluffing, there's no way he has such a big aura with great ability."

The man had already made up his mind, his feet immediately stepped towards Arzlan. Both hands gripped the sword tightly.

"You stupid bastard!"

Arzlan shot like a light until he was behind the man's body.

Crash!!!

Blood poured out very profusely, a death slash carved into the man's stomach until the blood flowed continuously.

Alisha approached Arzlan. "How is this? Shall we just leave the body here?"

"Yes! We have to get going!" They didn't have time to stay there, the action that place was a murder that would attract the attention of others, it would be very dangerous if anyone saw it.

***

They did it to get out of the narrow and deserted alley, the atmosphere of the city was still very lively so that their existence was ignored by others.

Before going to find the Black Smith's place, Arzlan's wants to sell every item obtained from the monster's body.

"What do you guys want to do in this shop?" The shop owner's words sounded really unfriendly, he looked at the two foreign customers very cynically.

"I want to sell this!"

Arzlan had placed a fairly large bag, that man soon checked it.

"Th-This…." His eyes immediately widened when he saw what he had just seen, some shiny objects that were cores or precious objects inside the monster's body had already dazzled his eyes. "Where did you get this?"

"Should we answer that?"

The atmosphere became silent for a moment, the question seemed to be belittling Arzlan and Alisha. Indeed, the thing that Arzlan brought was a rare item that had good quality, it was very hard to believe if an ordinary person could get it.

"Oh…sorry then!" The shop owner felt guilty for giving his customers a bad first impression. He seriously examined the object he saw using a tool that could measure the item quality level of a monster. "Hmmm..." When he finished he held his chin as if it was difficult to determine the right price. "I checked, it's not worth much, so…"

Arzlan narrowed his eyebrows, his eyes filled with murderous intent. "Don't mess with me, are you sure that this is a worthless thing? I've seen that this thing is going to be very expensive, the quality given is very high, there's no way it would suddenly drop in quality with your words!"

Shocked the shop owner, he was unable to answer Arzlan's words. Truly an aura filled with power to frighten others.

"A-Alright, I'll give you a price of 150 gold coins!" His hands were rubbed together as a sign of the nervous feeling in his heart.

"300, then I will give it!"

"T-Three hundred! Isn't that too expensive?"

"Huh..."

Arzlan's hand took the bag again, the negotiations were cancelled. The miserly merchant was too selfish with his trading techniques.
