Is He Really a Decent Person?

"I don't think this is the time to be arguing!" Adred instantly spoke up after the situation got out of control. "Right now we must stick to our main goal which is to defeat the Demon King!"

"That's right! There's no point in dealing with a maniac like him!"

"What are you saying?" said Amiru in a high tone of voice.

Zuru ignored that, his eyes glanced at Lucie. "So you are a being called an Elf, I heard that you have a sword that can help us in defeating the Demon King!"

Lucie nodded. "That's right!" The sword was placed in front of her body, everyone started to stare in awe at the majestic luster of that sword.

"This sword will prove one between of you all which can become a true hero to be able to fight Demon King! If you hold it there will emerge a great power from this sword that will fuse with your soul!"

In their hearts, they believed that that sword belonged to them.

Quickly, all lined up to prove the worthiness of that sword or not.

"Adred why don't you come along?" asked Zuru.

"I've tried it, and there's been no reaction!"

Amiru laughed out loud. "That's enough to prove that you're not the hero of choice, I'm sure that sword will choose me as its wielder!"

"If you really believe in yourself please hold the sword!" Adred couldn't wait to see how they would react that sword wouldn't pick one of them either.

Starting with Amiru, that guy really was acting arrogant in front of everyone. Bravely he raised the sword, a moment of silence waiting for what happened.

Amiru started to glance around.

"Did you feel something?" asked Lucie.

"Hmm… I do feel a vibration, but I don't feel any great energy turning into a great power!"

"That means you're not the creature accepted, that sword will shine once it chooses a wielder!" Adred let out a tone full of mockery.

"Tch… that's how it is! Here I return!" After putting down the sword, Amiru returned to his position with an irritated face.

Now that it was Zuru who started to advance, that man was just like Amiru, in his heart he had high faith that the sword would choose him.

Zuru started to raise the sword, he tried to feel the energy from the sword. "Hmm… indeed this sword is very good, I hope you can become mine!"

After two minutes, nothing happened. Everything was the same as Amiru, there was only a strange vibration they felt in the sword without being able to show the special energy of that sword.

"Sorry, you don't seem to have been chosen by that sword either!" said Lucie.

Zuru looked away and instantly put the sword back. He left without saying a word, but the gaze on his face was full of explosive anger.

"How pathetic, let me prove it!"

Haru wasn't wrong in being arrogant, Lucie was also sure that one of the four heroes would be able to wield that sword. Now three of the heroes have failed in their attempt to fuse the soul with that sword, and this is the last chance to see that sword's reaction.

Haru with high confidence tried to lift the sword.

"This sword is really good! I knew that you would also choose me as your user!" Haru smiled seeing his face reflected from that sword.

Again nothing happened, that sword remained as usual. The sword showed no significant reaction.

After five minutes, everyone was silent with a look of surprise.

"Impossible, why was I not chosen by this sword!" Haru's face turned full of disappointment.

"Don't be disappointed, maybe the sword really doesn't want to choose any of us!" Adred was relieved that none of them could wield that sword.

Haru let go of that sword and returned to the previous position.

Emotions welled up in their bodies, questions arose in everyone there, who was the real hero that sword was looking for.

"Is this sword really a holy sword?" asked Zuru firmly.

"That's right, can this sword really be said to be a holy sword so it is able to choose a hero?" continued Amiru.

"I'm not lying, this sword is indeed a holy sword that can only be used by those who have obtained the divine grace and this sword has also been used by heroes in the past!" Lucie explained in a worried tone.

"Can we believe the words of an elf like yourself?" asked Haru.

They gave Lucie sharp glares, the atmosphere shrouded in anger based on disappointment.

"Calm down!" Adred spoke up which stopped the anger, but it was only for a moment.

"What are you doing Adred? Don't you know that in this kingdom non-human beings will be directly punished unless they are slaves!" Amiru growled.

"I know about it, you don't have to yell at me like that!" Adred raised his gaze with an effect that gave rise to a sense of arrogance.

"What are you saying!"

"Adred!" Zuru cut off the conversation.

"Oi!" snapped Amiru.

But, no one paid attention to that man, Zuru continued his speech, "Do you have any proof that this sword is a holy sword?"

"Yeah, I've seen how this sword reacts, it gives off its radiance and power against him!"

Adred's eyes bulged violently when he ended his sentence.

"Uh, him?"

Not only was Zuru surprised, but everyone was wondering who Adred was referring to. Indeed, they did not know Arzlan's identity at all, so far that man had never said his name due to memory loss from the past.

"He is the fifth person to be present with us in this world!"

At that time, then everyone became shocked when they heard these words.

"What are you saying? In other words that guy is actually still alive?" asked Amiru surprised.

"Right, he came back with great power shrouded in darkness. Even two of my party members had been killed, I barely survived, but thanks to this woman and the sword, my life was still saved! The power of that sword had opened a gap for us to escape, I was amazed at the energy it produced. Pure white and very strong, but none of us are the ones chosen!"

"Then who is worthy to use it?" Haru asked.

The atmosphere became quiet, the answer was they could guess who could use that sword, namely Arzlan, but that was just an opinion. They believe that the sword is a holy sword that cannot be wielded by random people, especially now that Arzlan has been possessed by an evil power which lowers their belief in it.
