Hayden rushed out from the bushes and ran home without a second thought. He did not know where he was but he just kept running until he made it to the end of the road. He looked at the street sign and was surprised he knew where he was.

He was about an hour jog away from his house. He knew that he was in big trouble. His mother had issued him a task and he failed it: badly. Not only did he not bring back his mother's milk on time but he went missing for a couple of days.

He knew that once he came back home, he will be beaten. Hayden felt upset when he realized that tomorrow was Monday meaning he would have to go to high school. He loves school but not when he has to spend two whole hours putting on makeup to hide the cuts and bruises.

Hayden ran the rest of the way home. He only stopped twice to catch his breath. Despite his small frame and weak looking body, he was a good runner and athlete.

When he arrived at his house, he hesitantly held his fist up to knock. After a few minutes of hesitation, he raised his hand to knock on the door but suddenly the door burst open and he accidently punched his father right on nose.

"I'm so sorry sir!!!" Hayden immediately cried out in terror.

Hayden's father wiped the blood off of his nose and grinned sadistically at him.

"Oh, you will be." His father vowed darkly as he dragged Hayden into the house by his hair.
