“The first meeting”

Quiet doors, light but quick marching and a four rolling wheeled bed. Panting, sweating and grinding of teeth as a woman in bed squailed in pain.

"How much longer?"

"Almost there"

"keep up the phase! People!"

"you are doing good mother"

"inhale, exhale"

"control your breathing"

A wide door opened as the arrival of the team. They transferred the agonizing woman to a bed and positioned her in to lithotomy.

"Prepare for the baby, the dilation keeps on increasing"

"Nurse Mole, prepare for the neonate"

"noted Doc"

It's been 2 hours in delivery room of true labor but the baby hasn't come. IV kept on monitoring, Blood pressure and the fetal heart rate were being observe.

"If this keeps up for the next hours, we'll probably do a C section" one nurse whispered.

"I see crowning!" everyone in the room was on guard. Expectantly and eager to help the mother in pain for almost 10 hours.

Suddenly, a large piece of blob was cast out from the mother. "BABY IS OUT!" the doctor shouted.

"time! 10:35 pm!"

Immediately, the Doctor handed the baby to Nurse Mole. He found it strange that the baby was not crying.

"Doc. I think , we have a situation here." The Doctor looked at the other nurse, confused.

"There's still a fetal heart beat detected"

"She's having a twin!"

Nurse Mole Wiped, Warmed and Suctioned the baby but there were no sign of distress. He was alarmed by it and so...

"Doc! The baby is not crying"

"Doc! the mother slowly decreasing blood pressure"

The room was filled with tension. For 1 patient who entered the room ,changed in to 3 unwell patients. Interns and student nurses were feeling the pressure.

In a fraction of seconds, Mole remembered something. He thought of a way to show off his years on the field of nursing and the quality of nurses produced in the Philippines.

"Doc. Let's do the pinoy style"

Suddenly, the Doctor nodded.

Mole focused on the neonate while the Doctor focuses on the mother and the other baby.

Nurse Mole performed a CPR appropriate for the neonate with light and gentle touches, without compromising the health of the baby.

The baby cried after a few minutes, Mole was relieved and the other people inside the room were also relieved.

After that, Mole gave the neonate to the other Nurse to continue the care then proceeded to help the Doctor.

"Increase the drop factor by 5"

"I can see the baby"

"we can do this mother!"

"push! push! push!"

The mother kept on pushing as her sweat falls like a river. Her skin was off color and her lips were pale. The face of excruciating labor is intense.

"THE BABY IS OUT!"

"Time! 12:15pm"

Suddenly, the patient undergo to Hypovolemic shock. Mole ran and took some blood from the bank. While he was away, other nurses accommodate the patient and the babies.

When things were getting peaceful, they perform an Immediate post partum care to the patient and the babies. So, When Mole went back, He saw that everything was fine.

"Here's the blood"

"Nurse Mole, let's go and meet the husband"

"Doc. I'll collect some data on them after she becomes unconscious."

They met the husband and was glad that he becomes a father. There was nothing serious reportedly so he was relieved.

After a busy day, Nurse Mole endorsed the patient to the next shift. He changed his uniform and called his friend. He was speaking in Filipino. Few of the people in the hospital understood him.

"Hey!"

"Hey Mole, what's an update living in Thailand?"

"Well… tomorrow is my break and I'm planning to go to a safari"

"Alone?"

"As if I'll die of loneliness" he chuckles

"ok, fine, Mr. 'INDEPENDENT' " his friend teased him.

"then what about Mrs. 'DEPENDENT' "

"I need a break! I'll die of boredom here"

"what about your kids?" Mole was busy on the phone walking, passing by his co worker and signaling them a farewell.

"My sister in law and my mother in law stayed here so the kids were occupied. They'll stay here for 3 more months"

"then, do you want a vacation here? Let's go to a beach just the two of us"

"I don't kno-"

"Maybe, attend some fan meetings…" tempting, Mole bumped to a tall man who was wearing a business suit.

He dropped his glasses and the call accidentally. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry" He said without looking up. The man grabbed his glasses and handed over to him. "it's ok, no worries" the man said.

Mole bowed twice feeling sorry to the man then left him, he tried to call his friend again. "so when are you gonna be?-" Mole left the hospital building enthusiastically communicating to his friend. 'he smelled nice' he insighted.

An eye catching, heart stopping, beat skipping illness came inside the hospital. Every person, regardless of age or gender paused at their doing as they gaze on a guy who walks like a model.

Tall, handsome guy, walking , wearing a pricey coat and a fancy shoes. He approached the lobby and asked "Is there a patient named Maximillian? Marcus Maximillian?"

"what's your relationship with Marcus Maximillian sir?"

"I'm his son"

"Room 122, 3rd floor sir"

"thank you"

He went to an elevator and as he reached 3rd floor, he passed by and entered one of the doors.

"Tuxedo! I missed you!"

"I missed you too dad"

He hugged his father tightly and warmly.

"why did you signed up for DNR?"

"how was your Auntie? My little sister Claire"

"Don't change the subject dad"

"what? Is it bad for me to know the condition of my family?"

"why did you signed up for DNR?"

"there's nothing wrong with it, I even arranged my last will of testament with my lawyer. The things that you will inherit and the things for the orphanage that me and your mom funded."

He was getting frustrated "DAD! THERE IS! WHAT-" He sighed and try to talk nicely

"- what about me?" he hold his father's hands as he was about to cry.

"My son, you grew up so well. Look at you! An actor, a producer and soon to inherit my company. You don't need me anymore"

"I do! I do need you"

"what you need, is a child"

"here we go again…"

"come on , son"

"Dad, I don't even have a girlfriend, where on earth would I find a grandchild for you?"

"well, I just want a son or a daughter, I don't care of the name. I'll give the child an inheritance".

"you don't want an adopted"

"yes, I want love, genuine love, a product of love" Tuxedo sighed deep.

His father noticed that his son was looking shady. "what happened? Looking so gloomy" concerned and worried.

"Janhie and I broke up. I saw her sleeping with a director"

"it's ok son, love should be both side , not one sided. No matter how long the distance is, no matter how busy both of you , love will make a way"

"Is that the reason why you missed mom so much?"

"yeah~ and I longed to meet her again"

"so signing DNR is your way?"

"yes~ and no~"

"what? That doesn't makes sense"

"yes, in a way that I'll leave this earth and be with her. No, because my time hasn't come but one day will."

"If I can't change your mind, then allow me to hire a personal nurse that'll focus in taking care of your needs"

"if that will make your heart at ease, why not?"

After a long communication with his father, Tuxedo contacted the hospital's Director to help him find a suitable helper for his father. The Director lead him to the nurses.

There were lists of recommendation from the Department of Nursing. Each one was carefully analyzed and researched by Tuxedo's assistant.

The next day, Tuxedo received a message. "Sir, here are the lists of potential care provider."

Tuxedo looked at their CVs and their certifications and qualifications. He even looked at their ratings and evaluation from their previous work place. "I'll check these 5 interesting people…" He whispered.
