Leisure Time

It was noon, and Kimihito had almost finished half of Smith's book. He felt bored because the whole day was only spent reading books. He could finish it all in one day, but he chose to take a short break.

'There's already this much...' He thought, looking at the books he'd just read.

Kimihito couldn't believe he could read that much in such a short amount of time. Previously it was difficult for him to do such a thing. But after he got the All-Seeing Eye of God, he seemed able to scan the writings he read quickly.

"Yuuna, I'll be out for a bit."

Hearing his words, she paused for a moment and turned to him, then asked, "Hm? Where to?"

"Maybe I'll go for a walk. You want to come too?" Even though he already lived in Yuragi-sou, he realized that he was unfamiliar with the surrounding area.

"No, I want to finish this book first." She said, returning her focus to the book she was reading.

Feeling curious about the book Yuuna was reading, Kimihito peeked at the cover of the book she was holding to see the book's title. 'Huh? Host and Demi-human Rules?' He thought with a smile.

Kimihito wasn't too surprised to see Yuuna reading that book. She might have read it out of afraid that she would get into trouble again and that it would trouble everyone. However, their coordinator was Smith, so he wasn't too worried if he or Yuuna got into trouble.

"Then Yuuna, I'll head out first."

"Careful."

While walking down the hall, Kimihito saw Sagiri and Yaya studying in the living room. He wasn't quite sure, but the two of them seemed to be having a hard time, which could be seen from their expressions.

"What's the matter with you girls? Are you all right?"

"Kimihito!" X2

"A-ah! Th-this… I-I just don't really like math." Sagiri said shyly.

It was difficult for Sagiri to overcome the problems in math problems. She didn't understand why she had to look up the ever-questioning value of x, y, and the others. If she was given a choice to complete a ninja mission or find x in a math problem, she would definitely choose the first option.

"Do you want me to teach you?" Kimihito himself was in no hurry to go out, and it would be better if he helped them rather than go out for a walk leaving the two in trouble.

"Really?!"

"Of course. Besides, I also have nothing to do today."

When he said he would teach Sagiri, he felt Yaya beside him continued to stare at him curiously. "Ah! Do you want me to teach you too, Yaya?"

"Kimihito can teach Japanese language subjects?" Yaya asked, wishing he could teach her too.

Yaya is a girl who can't communicate well, and it's natural that subjects like the Japanese language and literature make it difficult for her. She often struggles in several areas, such as understanding how people relate, understanding the meaning of stories, and various things about relationships. However, even though it was pretty difficult, she did not give up on learning all of it.

"Sure, I will teach you after Sagiri."

"Um," Yaya replied, nodding.

"So which one you don't understand?"

"I'm having a hard time at this point."

"At this point, you have to do calculations like this and then…."

After that, Kimihito started teaching them both starting with Sagiri. He told Yaya to study the other subjects first while waiting to finish Sagiri Math. After teaching Sagiri mathematics, it was her turn to teach Yaya about Japanese literature.

It was easy for him to teach the two of them because Kimihito had taught his first- and second-year students many times in his school before. Being a teacher does not mean having a high educational background. But the most important thing is that person can convey the knowledge they want to share, not just talk and explain in a language that is difficult to understand. Not everyone can do that.

"I really helped. Thank you, Kimihito!"

"Mee too! Thank you, Kimihito." Yaya said while giving a thumbs up. Even though she said that with an even tone and expression, she was really grateful.

It took more than an hour to teach the two of them all the material they were not good at. Even so, Kimihito was happy to help the two of them deal with it all.

"Glad to help you study, don't disappoint in the exam later."

"Umu!" X2

After Kimihito finished teaching Sagiri and Yaya, he continued his previously postponed plan. As he was about to leave Yuragi-sou, he saw Chitose who seemed to be going out.

"You're going out too, Chitose-san?" He asked when seeing Chitose near him carrying a shopping bag. It looked like she was going to go shopping.

"Ah! Kimihito-kun… I was just about to go buy groceries to stock up on our supplies."

Hearing Chitose's words, he thought of something. "Is that so? Hm… How about I just buy it?"

"Eh? Are you sure?" She was a little surprised to hear that Kimihito wanted to help her because typically, a guy doesn't really like things about household matters like shopping for groceries.

"I just happened to want to go out for a bit." He would enjoy his walks while stopping at one place rather than just wandering.

"It helped me a lot... Then..." Then she gave a piece of paper containing a list of items to be purchased later to not forget.

"Is that all?"

"That's all, you can buy soy sauce and other packaged spices at the convenience store, then for other ingredients, you can buy it at the market near here."

"I see... Then I'll be leaving." Kimihito then started walking to the market that Chitose told him while carrying a bag, a list of items, and enough money to buy everything on the list.

"Thank you Kimihito-kun! Be careful on the way!" She said, waving her hand. Because one of her tasks was helped by him, she can now do other tasks.

After arriving at the market not far from Yuragi-sou, Kimihito had no idea what kind of place he had come to. It wasn't that he was lost, but that he just didn't expect to go to a market different from what he had imagined.

Previously when Kimihito was still living in the village, there was no such thing as a market there. There was only a kind of wooden shelf containing vegetables tied in some sort of netting bag and had a price tag attached. There was no such thing as a waiter, and if someone wanted to pay, they just had to enter money into the cash box beside it. Even if it was just like that, he had also gone to the market several times, which was more normal than his village. However, the market in front of him is different from all the markets he has ever entered.

'Tokyo Youkai Market.' He thought when he saw the big nameplate on it.

"Well, not surprising since this is also the territory of the Tokyo Youkai faction area." He muttered, then started walking into the market.

Kimihito, who had entered the market, began to look around. Many youkai were seen there, ranging from fox, tengu, obake, and many more to types he didn't know about. Apart from Youkai, he also noticed that few humans and animal demi-humans seemed to have gotten used to the situation there as if it had become a natural thing.

Despite the many different types of races, he was amazed to see that they all looked so peaceful.

"Hey you, a human man over there!" While looking around, suddenly a voice called out to him.

"Me?" He asked a tengu who was carrying a spear, and he seemed to be one of the guards here.

"Yeah, looks like it's your first time here."

"I came here to buy some ingredients," Kimihito said as he informed and then handed over his shopping list, hoping the guard could help him.

"You can buy all this at that shop, can you see it?" Said the guard tengu while pointing to a shop some distance away.

"Oh, that shop… Thank you, Tengu-san." Even though it was a bit far away, Kimihito could see it clearly with his eyes.

"If you need help, you can ask the guard tengu who carries the spear."

"There's something I'm curious about. May I ask a question?"

"No problem, tell me what it is."

"Is it usually this busy?"

" Ah, about that... It's only natural that you're curious. But, if you go at night, it will be much busier and a lot of shops will open, that's because Youkai is usually active at night." Said guard tengu, explaining about market conditions.

"I see..."

Even though it's past noon, the youkai market is quite busy, but Kimihito can also see some shops still closed. He couldn't think of how crowded it would be if he came here at night.

"Then I'll excuse myself to go there, thank you, Tengu-san."

"Oh, I forgot! if you want to buy Youkai products, make sure they are harmless to humans." Said the guard tengu reminded Kimihito.

"I'll remember that.".

Since this was a Youkai market, it was only natural that most shops here were selling Youkai products. Apart from that, some shops also sell general goods such as the usual meats and vegetables. He also saw foodstuff he had never seen and knew about.

After walking for a while, Kimihito finally arrived in front of the shop that the guard tengu had pointed out earlier.

"Welcome, can I help you?" When he got there, he was greeted by an old granny shopkeeper.

"I was looking for all of this." He said, then gave his shopping list to the granny.

"Please wait a moment. I'll get them all." Granny said, then she started to put some foodstuffs into the basket.

It didn't take long for the granny to put all the items on his shopping list into the basket. " Is there anything you want to add?"

"No, that's all."

After paying for all that, Kimihito started moving all the items in the basket into the bag he was carrying. Unintentionally, the old granny felt familiar with the shopping bag carried by the young man in front of her.

"Hm? Are you an acquaintance of Nakai-san?"

While Kimihito was loading his groceries, he heard the granny asking him. "Nakai-san? Ah! Granny, you mean Chitose-san? I happen to be staying at the inn she manages."

"Haaa... You know, she's really famous here…."

"Heeh~ I just found out that she's a famous person."

'Well, that's only natural considering her age...' He thought as he recalled Chitose's age.

After buying all the items on his shopping list, Kimihito immediately left the youkai market. Even so, he was also curious about the kinds of stuff sold by youkai. Don't know when he will be back there again, but for sure, he will come back again to try the kinds of stuff that make him curious there.

'Now I just have to go to the convenience store.' He thought as he started walking towards the convenience store.
