You need it and I need it

She arrived at Megan's home and it looked very peaceful and comfortable. She got down from her car and knocked on the front door.

The door opened revealing a fairly good looking man who seemed in his mid thirties. " Hello? How may I help you?", he asked after a while of her not saying anything.

" Uhh Am here to see Megan... she's not been in....", Mabel couldn't continue as the man dragged her inside the house and locked the door cutting her off immediately.

" Thank God, maybe you could talk some sense into Megan, we've been trying to get through to her but she's hard like a stone and had been too quiet not telling wat happened but she didn't wish to go to school either", he said and she raised her eyebrows.

" James let go of the girl. Darling what's your name?", she heard a voice and she looked ahead to see an old man in wheelchair approaching her. " I'm Mabel", she found her voice after a while.

" I was starting to think my granddaughter had no friend because no one even came to see her", he said sadly. Mabel wanted to tell him that she wasn't Megan's friend but she let it be.

" Go on, she's upstairs in her room, don't knock.... just go in, it's better that way", he said and she nodded and went upstairs to see Megan. Her heart was pounding, what would Megan think if she saw her? Would she blame her that she was the reason Holden couldn't notice her? Would they have a girl fight with her panicking and running again?

She calmed her breath and went upstairs. She saw the room door, with a huge pink bow in front. Girly and Classy, she got in without knocking and she saw Megan sitting next to the window.

She approached her slowly and saw that Megan Could actually see down stairs from here and she could even see her car, so did Megan know she was here all along?

She breathed and voiced out. " Hey Megan, it's me Mabel", she said and Megan turned around slowly.

" What are you doing here Mabel, did my Dad order a nerd to come see me?", she asked and scoffed at the nerd. Mabel sighed and sat on Megan's pink soft bed, she saw Megan glare at her but she ignored it anyway. She was already here so she might as well finish what she started.

" Are you upset about something, is that why you refused to go to school, you should know girls are gossiping about you", Mabel said starting a conversation and Megan just stared at her with no reply.

" You can tell me what's wrong am willing to listen", she added and Megan closed her eyes for tears to fall down slowly.

" No you tell me what's wrong Mabel... am...am...I not good enough for him?", Megan asked, her voice was already breaking and Mabel just stared perplexed.

" I have done a lot to myself just to fit in with Holden's needs but everytime he just rejects me", she said and wiped her face.

" Don't cry seriously because it's pointless as Holden isn't here to see you cry", Mabel found herself talking which was weird as she knew she wasn't up for long conversation or encouragements.

" Holden has been at school for those three days you went on off and was even at school today, you are just here crying and loosing intelligence for a guy who doesn't even care if you're alive or dead", Mabel said adjusting her glasses while Megan just kept cleaning her endless tears.

" You know what Mabel, you're right, I've been hurting for too long, it's time I wake up and see that Holden and I have grown up and we have different lives now, we can't be eight year olds anymore", she said and Mabel just nodded even though she didn't understand all that Megan was saying, she did understand the part where she was moving on.

She saw Megan get up and approach her bed. she picked a picture from under the pillow and threw it outside the window. She finally burst into another fit of tears after she did that and Mabel stood up and hugged her, " There, there, let it all out", she said rubbing circles on Megan's back.

Mabel later decided to spend some time with Megan as she listened to Megan tell stories of her childhood. It turns out Megan was just a lonely girl just like her who wanted her own life. While Mabel was ready to make do with what she had, Megan wanted to think outside the box.

" I used to be just like you, nerdy and ugly, the only difference is that you're not ugly, you're beautiful, I was worse", Megan joked and Mabel laughed. Well it was the truth though.

Megan had met Holden when he helped her drive a bully away. She was just eight years at that time and that was when her childish infatuation started. But soon Holden got popular and she realized if she wanted to be with him, she had to up her game, so she changed herself completely. From Clumsy Megan to Perfect and no scratch Megan.

It took her a while but she finally got into the popularity crew back then at middle school. Holden's mom was still alive and kicking back then and so Holden was still cheerful and easy to talk to but after her death, Holden became cold and less caring, he stayed away from People and only cared about his step brother.

She did everything to make sure she went to the same high school with Holden but instead of giving her any attention, he totally ignored her like she didn't exist.

Mabel listened to everything and sighed. " So what are you gonna do now?", She asked and Megan stared at her with a look of longing. " First thing am going to do is go shopping, you need it and I need it", she said staring at Mabel's clothes and Mabel found herself blushing in embarrassment. She had not once cared how she looked but suddenly, Megan's gaze on her made her conscious of what she was wearing
