There Was A Knife
Few minutes ago...
Holden had heard a loud thud in front of his room door while drawing what he thought of each character every time. He was even starting to know them so well that anytime Late Lenny's girlfriend was mentioned by Mabel, he sneered.
Lenny's girlfriend always claimed she has no choice but to tell Lenny's mom the truth but in actual fact she wanted Lenny's father to bribe her with money. He couldn't even believe it himself but he was already getting the hang of it, wanting to see more of the book.
He slowly got up and walked to the door while Megan stared at him puzzled. She was sure he was paying attention just now. She didn't hear the noise because she was reading and somehow she thought he was already bored with the book.
" No please don't be bored already, the story doesn't end here", she panicked, rushing after him, she didn't want to lose hope yet. This was just the first day, what was left of the rest if he was already bored.
Holden glared at her and signalled her to be quiet until she heard voices coming from his room hallway. She was at first puzzled at who it belong to when she recognized one of them as Jace's voice.
She listened thoroughly and putting two and two together. She realized Jace and Luke wanted to spy at them. The first reason she had panicked was not even serious but now she was actually was panicking. Be it her or not, she hated being watched.
There was a time she was placed under the supervision of teachers during exams because they found her straight A's in all subjects impossible. I mean how could someone never get a B C D Or F for once in their life but only straight A's, not surprising that they became suspicious.
She had tensed up and even forgotten how to spell her last name at a paper infact. She wrote a bold C and forgot the 'ee' in the name and she even became so scared that she would get a C for not writing her surname well she panicked and tore the scripts.
The teachers realized that the too much attention tensed her up so they stopped. Same reason she couldn't stand Megan's previous squad for long, being observed was just not her forte.
" Want are we going to do Holden? We can't let them watch us, it's just so out of league", she said and he just stayed calm and then brought out a spicy smile with an evil glint in his eyes causing her to shiver involuntarily....
He smiled at her body reaction and cleared his throat and told her everything he planned softly.
" You on Brownie?", he asked seriously and she couldn't help but stutter. " D---do------d----do that, no--- way", she immediately refused.
She couldn't pretend. That was something she also wasn't good at. The ability to try out dangerous new things wasn't in her life plan.
" Brownie, sometimes you gotta do the fucking impossible to gain something", he said and she still shook her head in refusal.
Holden sighed, drew her to him and whispered something in her ear and she found herself nodding forgetting she was too close to him.
Afterward they went on with their plan...
Presently...
" You guys were...you were... Holden was", Jace stuttered that even he couldn't understand what he was saying.
" The knife .... there was a knife.... there was a knife a moment ago...", Luke said as well stuttering, staring at both Holden and Mabel who appeared to be seriously studying when they came in which was so totally different from what they saw on the camera footage.
Holden and Mabel got up from the seats looking totally confused. Holden just did what he knew how to do best. " Brownie head home... it's late", he said and she nodded softly.
She smiled at Jace and Luke like she didn't know what was going on but as soon as she got out of the room. She used her hand to cover her mouth, "They were both stuttering, Was I so convincing? Definitely I was so convincing and Holden pulled it well too, I've got to head home", she said and hurried downstairs.

Three days after...
Everything was going smoothly. Megan and Mabel had been hitting it off pretty well. Megan had her own problems but she didn't have the guts to bother Mabel with it as exceptionally these days, Mabel had been really happy about how successful she was helping Holden.
Mabel noticed that sometimes at home, during class, lunch, anywhere, Megan would mentally space out. She had intended to ask Megan what was up but anytime she got the chance and Megan got the hint she would change the subject.
Mabel had finally let her be and left everything else to fate. Well she would wait for when Megan was finally ready to open up about what had been bothering her for so long.
........
Megan had decided to sit in an empty classroom and stare at her phone screen before Lunch. she had free period and wanted to be far away from the world as possible.
These three days had literally been her worst. She didn't think her mom would dare come to look for her at her home but she did and each day making the house a living nightmare for her.
She had long made up her mind everything her mom said was a lie and she was just covering up her mistakes. She wasn't stupid, Wendy Perry wanted nothing with the Pierce, she just wanted to make her only daughter's life a living hell because if that wasn't the case, then why did she keep showing up when Megan clearly said she didn't want her anymore?
