The size of a toddler.

" Well that's what happens when you spend a year and half working here with grumpy manager and annoying unreasonable brothers and sisters of this store."

They walked out of the room right outside to the big hall where everyone worked.

" You see that one over there?" Avery pointed at a good looking guy who's face was stoic a he wiped the cash register computer and arranged the books.

His hair was arranged neatly with gel and his uniform was spike and span– nothing out of place. He looked so much like the grand advisor to a prince. All was missing was a pocket watch and one eyed glasses.

" That's the boring and plain pretentious white lotus,Roland. He never smiles unless when he attends to customers and maybe the manager."

An Xiaodi was speechless by the way she described him. Isn't white lotus description meant for girls and women?

The boring and plain pretentious white lotus Roland quickly turned his head towards their direction and Avery let out a startled yelp as she was caught badmouthing him to a new employee. She quickly averted her eyes and so did An Xiaodi.

He narrowed his eyes and faced his business, his mouth pursed.

" Whew! That was rather scary. He has quite a sharp ear you know." Avery whispered softly to An Xiaodi and she smiled.

"You see I work as the cashier and sometimes we switch shifts so today I take his job as a guide and he takes the job as the sale's cashier. And sometimes we both work together. By the way which part are you doing?"

" Sales girl job."

" Oh wow! that means we're going to be three." Avery jumped.

" Okay! we're moving on! These are Nana, Ting and Hwa, Anna and Fin then Pier and Andrew."Avery led her to the others that arrived early.

" Hey everyone this is Xiaodi!" She announced to them which caught their attention aside from An Xiaodi's unusual beauty.

A fairly fat woman waved at her signalling that she was Nana. Her brown curls danced when she walked.

" Nice to meet you smallie." A tall gangly man with neatly arranged hair smiled and brought out a hand. His other twin simply saluted in a friendly manner.

" An Xiaodi." She boldly took his hand and he was rather surprised that she wasn't flinching by his strong grip. He let out a laugh.

" Anna. You'll be seeing me always." A twiggy girl with beautiful red hair ponytail mumbled disinterestedly since she doesn't need to be that friendly.

" Hi beautiful Chica I'm Pier and, dibs, will you be my girlfriend?" A handsome young man with stylish blonde hair winked flirtatiously at her and she was rendered speechless.

" I already have one..." She spoke a bit later.

" Ignore him! He's just like that every time. He flirts with everyone and everything he sees as beautiful!" Avery eyed him and dragged her away quickly.

"I'm Fin." A man who was picking up boxes nodded and An Xiaodi too nodded.

"An Xiaodi."

" I'm little Andrew." A smallish dark skinned handsome young man spoke with earnest warmest greetings.

She was flattered by his politeness.

Soon it was 5:00pm and everyone went back to work as though it was a normal day. This branch arrangement was totally different from other. supermarket as they operated from 5:00pm to 10:30 pm.

Countless people trickled inside to purchase items and they were all guided by a lot of employees who helped them to select items to their interests.

An Xiaodi immediately grabbed the way they operated and could confidently handle the costumers after she finished arranging the items on display with Avery.

" Not bad Xiaodi." Avery giggled as they closed for the night. They changed out of their uniforms and heading to their respective homes.

Unfortunately Avery's house is the opposite of An Xiaodi way so she took a cab while An Xiaodi used her bicycle she owned to get home.

Her house was a forty minutes journey on foot and twenty minutes by bicycle and ten minutes by train.

As she opened the door to her apartment she suddenly felt chills run behind her back and she abruptly turned around only to find nothing but a bat that flew past.

She hoisted her bag up higher and quickly zoomed into the apartment and locked the door panting lightly.

Weird.

She could have sworn that she felt something staring at her intently. She went to the window and peeked through the curtains to see what it was.

The lights on the car park a few walks across the street started to flicker before they died. But not before she caught a glimpse of an extremely short figure. the size of a toddler with glowing green eyes like LED lights.

It turned to her direction and looked straight into her eyes before running away in extremely fast speed into the nearby thick bushes and trees.

And she freaked out.
