Sheer frustration

"*Sigh... you've got this An Xiaodi!" She told herself. She had been sitting down with the other applicants for an interview. So far,none of the interviewers have arrived.

She checked her wrist watch for about the fifth time since she arrived. It was already 2:17pm already. They had told them to arrive at 9:00am and they all did.

They were about twelve to twenty of them that applied at Shore Woman's and sales Supermarket. It was known as the best super market in the town of city R.

This was because it was one of the business owned by a really wealthy and wise business woman in her mid fifties. She was rather mysterious and aside from the super market,she owned a boutique which was also popular.

An Xiaodi had quit her previous job as a computer operator because of the low payment and high work force demands. She had come across a flyer that stated that they need sales girls and managers and decided to try her luck. She really needed this job and so does everyone who had applied.

One more hour passed.

Bit by bit, they all started to grow impatient with the arrangement. As you know impatience leads to negative thoughts, the participants started to complain.

" Aish! these people are unreliable and stuck up! Just because we applied for the job of managers doesn't mean we are worth nothing!"

" Yeah I agree with you! I graduated from the best university in this city with first class in business and accounting and here there's no by the book policy!"

" We're all wasting our time here let's go..."

" I tried to use my connections to land in this job but they told my uncle that it has to be done fairly and no bribing."

" Me too...my dad couldn't get me the job but here we are only to get my time wasted."

' Hmmmmm. It seems like I'm the only one who came here for the job of sales girl and not manager.' Jin Xia thought to herself.

Some ladies that were sitting close by were so idle that they started to scrutinize her appearance and looks. They were daughters from well to do families whose dressings were to the nines.

Some wore make-up and did their hair in the best styles. Sure,they look attractive and secretary like but they weren't professional and their attitudes made them look like they came for seduction not interview.

An Xiaodi had worn a simple white blouse and a black trouser which made her look simple. She had her black hair up in a neat ponytail and wore no makeup. Instead of making her look plain,she instead was the most attractive of them all.

Her beautiful eyes were slanted just enough to look like cat's eyes. Her milky white skin glowed with the light. She was too beautiful to look at.

" Eww...look at that thing over there. She looked like she came out from the dumpster."

"*Tsk* so even commoners can apply for the same job as us?! Disgusting!"

"I bet she doesn't even know what accounting is all about!"

" look at her cheap clothes. They can't even cost up to 20 yuan's! "

"I bet that she'll be eliminated the moment they see that deceptive face of hers."

"Do you know that such poor people like her only use their looks to deceive people and scheme?"

"That's just too low."

"She should go apply for waitress at the bar...no wait...a janitor!"

Jin Xia didn't even pay attention to their chattering. She was really concerned about being a sales girl so she can have free time to study while working. She rubbed her chin.

'Or should I apply for a delivery girl?...nah... I'll just stick with the latter'

A few more hours.

One by one,they started to leave the place in sheer frustration, hoping that they'll come back the following day.

She quietly started to doze off with her hand supporting her face. She was exhausted waiting for them to arrive.

6:00pm.

There was no one around the place. The hallway was a little too quiet as she was the only person sitting on the bench.

The venue for the interview was located far from her home and she had to catch the train before 7:00pm.

She suddenly felt someone tapping her shoulder and she quickly jolted awake and stood up straight. She was startled to see a female janitor of about forty years old smiling kindly at her.

" Good evening Ma'am" She bowed respectfully and the woman was surprised to be greeted in such manner by a young girl.

" Evening dear child... it's pretty late and what are you doing here?" She asked examining the girl.

She was really nice and easy to talk to as she looked like someone with good upbringing. Maybe she could help her by saying a few good words for her tommorow.
