"But..." One of the interviewers with a thick glass on his broad nose wanted to reason with her.
" It's fine Edgar. She's terrific for any job you give her plus she's really a good person and I know her personally."
" What..? " They were surprised to find out that this lady knew An Xiaodi personally. What luck did she find or which sort of family did An Xiaodi come from to be close to her?
"CEO... you know her from your family relations or something?" The other interviewer– a lady in black cashmere coat and short bob hair– suddenly asked.
"What..?" An Xiaodi was rather confused. Me? You? Personally? CEO?
" She's that girl I've been talking to you about. You know the one who helped me clean up the hall ways and offices last week. It was fun I tell you."
And that's when An Xiaodi froze in shock and disbelief. She could have sworn that her mouth was hanging open.
That janitor old lady was the founder of Shorewomans and Sales?!
What a great plot twist huh. Wasn't she supposed to be older than the janitor appearance according to what they say? Here she was looking nothing like an old woman.
"An Xiaodi... you have the job and get prepared because next week Tuesday you'll be working at branch eleven in town."
An Xiaodi immediately took a deep now to thank her and the others. She had landed the job she hoped for.
She was walking outside on the streets when a black sports car drove past her at full speed, splashing dirty mud on her from head to toe.
"Ahhh!" She wailed angrily at the car which took a sharp corner to the right disappearing from her site.
She looked disheveled like a half drowned cat and she shivered before sneezing abruptly. She mumbled curses to the carless driver's blood line about them having swollen stomach from eating fa*ces.
These were new clothes she bought from a cheap market so she could look well for the interview. Good thing she landed the job or else she'd have lost sourly.
Suddenly the sky rumbled with thunder and she jumped abruptly. It started to rain lightly.
By the time she got home she was washed in rain water which helped to reduce the mud on her. She shivered as she hugged her stomach and paced around the house to find anything edible.
Okay. Ramen and vegetables sounds nice even though ramen noodles are a bit unhealthy. But who cares about it when she's landed a good job. Soon she'll feed well and support her fees.
She slept well after having a nice bath and finally relaxed.
Beside her table were a couple of books about ancient history and runes symbols,a bag and few clothes.
Ah. she had no phone but only a laptop for working so she planned to get one once she get payed.
...
Bai Chen was in a rather good mood as he greeted some people around. His eyes had a sparkle about them that seemed to spread joy around just by looking at someone.
He arrived at class early as he could be and swept the classes along with the others, wiped the blackboard clean and even took out the trash.
He was sweeping the balcony of the classroom with the other students when something caught his eyes. More like someone.
He narrowed his eyes to see what was going on on the rooftop of the other building. Much to his surprise,a lump of black uniform laid there sleeping.
What the hell?
Who sleeps under the sun like that?! A solar powered human? This is absolute madness.
The Unidentified sleeping human didn't even move a muscle and Bai Chen started to get worried so he decided to go check it out. Perhaps they'd fainted?
Roof top.
Nobody was there.
Bai Chen scratched his head in surprise when he arrived. He turned around to observe the place but there was no one or nothing in sight. He simply shrugged and left.
He was beginning to think that it was the sleepy eyed boy he'd met. Though he couldn't get a glimpse of his face back then but he's sure that he's a student of this school.
He came across Yan Yu who was talking to a pretty girl as short as he was with the signature olive skin and rounded nose. His sister.
Her eyes sparkled as soon as she saw Bai Chen. He rubbed his nose awkwardly as he initially planned to run away silently but she saw him. He let out a soft sigh.
" Big brother Chen!" She smiled and spoke loudly.
Both Bai Chen and Yan Yu eardrums rang as Bai Chen picked his ears with a light chuckle.
D*mn! For such a small body she had a loud overbearing voice.
" Yan Yime can't you just lower your voice when talking?! you sound like a shrew!"
" It's not my fault I was born this way!" She complained as she tried to reduce her voice and her face was a good shade of tomato.
