59. Once upon a time

It was another day of peace in my house. My sculptures were selling well, earning me a lot of money, and May could and was saving a good deal of money for Peter's schooling.

One of the big requests came from the most narcissistic man in the world, one who gave me a lot, a lot of money. Tony Stark. It was a life-size piece of armor from him.

Why the hell would he want that, if he was the guy who made his own armor, and could pretty much leave that shit on display in his cozy living room? I don't know the answer, but I don't care.

After I was done, I sent the person most likely to talk to the guy with the horrible mustache. My representative would be the boy genius, Peter Parker.

POV PETER

It was a short but nice trip. I had never ridden in such a big car and with so many sweets. Too bad Aunt May won't let me eat too many. I even showed her the comic that Uncle Black drew, about L who loves to eat sweets, but she doesn't think it's cool. She says it makes me hyperactive and ruins my teeth.

Speaking of Uncle Black, he ordered me to present the sculpture to Mister Stark. He knows Iron Man is my idol, and I know he hates Stark, so here I am. But why do I need to wear a suit?

The outfit is uncomfortable, and I really want to believe Aunt May that I'm well dressed and handsome. I need to think of nice words to make the presentation, or Uncle Black will cut my allowance.

But I can't praise Mr. Stark too much either, or Aunt May will tell Uncle Black, and that's where he'll really cut my allowance.

It is at this time that a beautiful red-haired woman with eyes that make me lose my feet approaches me and Aunt May.

"Mr. Parker, Mrs. Parker, we're ready. Follow me."

She wore a classic secretary outfit, just like I've seen in the movies, leaving her beautiful legs on display. I can't comment or Aunt May will kill me.

"Th-thanks. What would her name be?" I ask awkwardly.

"Natalie Rushman, Mr Parker." she answers me with a smile. 'Wow, what a beautiful smile.'

"My pleasure, Miss Natalie. Just call me Peter if it's not too much trouble." Uncle Black says that politely eliminating Mister and Madam helps to look good and earn points.

"Thanks Peter, I would be very happy if you call me Nat." she answers me smiling, and I don't know why, but I feel my face burning.

"So my nephew is already at that stage? When we get home, we'll have a talk about the flowers and the bees." May says, for a second I forgot about her main ability to make me feel ashamed.

"Aunt May." is the only thing I can say in my defense since she is the boss. But it doesn't change that I was outraged.

"Sorry Peter, force of habit." she says, pretending to be embarrassed, while the beautiful Nat laughs.

We entered the room, and the sculpture was still tied tightly and covered with cloths. I went to stand next to her, and when I looked up, I saw my hero, Tony Stark, sitting next to a beautiful blonde woman.

I think it's Mrs. Potts.

"Th-thanks for the opportunity to present one of the best works made by my Uncle. He apologizes for not being able to come as he is working on other sculptures." I try to explain, but I'm cut off by Tony.

"And the other sculptures are more important than mine? I didn't know it looked so bad in people's eyes." he looked sour.

"My uncle said that when Tony Stark complained about him not being able to come, it was to say that not everyone needs to lick his boots. He did his job, and even more so by sending me here, so he asked me to be quiet. and listen."

My hands were sweating. These words were on the cards Uncle Black made for me to read should those moments ever happen.

"You got guts boy. Did he say that is? Are you wearing a wire?" Tony gets up, despite Pepper's protests.

"No, Mr. Stark, it was all written on the cards Uncle Black gave me." I take it out of my pocket. There were only two, which were taken from my hand by Tony, and he began to read.

After a while he asks. "Did you read the second card?" he put both in his pocket.

"No, Uncle Black said that if I read it, my allowance would be cut off and I wouldn't be able to play computer games for a month." I answer sincerely.

"And how would he know you didn't read it?" his tone was dismissive.

I just point at Aunt May, who gives me a smile and wave. Tony looks at her, then at me, not understanding.

"She would have. The cards are left with her when I went to the bathroom." I shrug.

"Okay kid, get on with your work. You pass." he smiles, patting my shoulder lightly. But when he sat down, his expression was a little worried.

"My presentation will be brief as I still have to go to school, so without further ado, here it is, one of Black & Park's masterpieces." I pull the rope, and it unwinds, revealing an almost real Iron Man.

Tony looked astonished at the amount of detail, the smallest. Even I, who was seeing it for the first time, thought that Iron Man himself was beside me. It was impressive.

This was Aunt May's moment, so I walked off the 'stage' and sat on the couch, next to Nat. She offers me a juice, which I accept with a smile. I had a new impression of Tony Stark, and it wasn't the best.

The way he spoke to me was wrong, and now he sounds like a different person as he talks to Aunt May.

Anyway, their conversation was going to take a while, and as I didn't have much to do, I took out the last magazine that uncle wrote, Death Note. He said this was the end, and I was looking forward to it.

I devoured, not noticing that Nat was reading beside me. When I got to the last page and saw that L had died, I got up in indignation.

"Damn senile old man. How could you do this." It was only then that I noticed that I had screamed, and Aunt May had her left eye twitching.

"Peter Parker, what language is that?" she strikes the pose, hands on her hips, looking at me intently, but I wouldn't give up.

"Uncle Black killed L, Aunt." I gave her a spoiler without batting an eye. She read the magazine with me.

"When we get back, I'll teach you not to spoil things for people, and if that's true, I'll have to teach that bastard not to kill people's heroes like that." she snorted.

"Where can I read this magazine?" Nat asks beside me.

"Uncle Black left it open on the internet. So you can even read it on your cell phone." I reply, but it comes out more guttural as I wasn't controlling my anger at Uncle Black at the moment.

"What are you talking about?" Tony approaches.

Nat just picks up the magazine from the floor, showing the cover, which was all black, with a drawn diary covering 80% of the cover, and in the diary was writing. Death Note.

"I think L is smarter than you, Mister Stark." I say teasingly, so he would read it, and most likely, brag after being smarter than L, which would make people look for the magazine online, and then, success.

"I'll read it, if he's really that smart, I'll give you armor." he says like it's nothing.
