Consequence

Rochester didn't say or do anything to pacify her.

It wasn't that he couldn't sympathise with her plight, or that he didn't understand the tangible reason attributed to her outbursts, he just didn't care! Not for any of her flighty moods and certainly not about what she had stated about his affection for the said Giselle. Matter of fact, it made his blood boil and his stomach churn to think that she had just called him a girl chaser!

The consciousness of how she had blabbed about Giselle's indifferent feeling towards him made him want to pull her hair out and hoist her out of his room. With every strand in him, he hated the very guts of this girl, this blonde standing in front of him and seething much.

Still, he couldn't do it… not the part of tugging at her hair or dragging her out of his space. Either one of the two tragic choices, Rochester found that he just couldn't do it.
