Resolute ll

Louisa's face lost all its colour. "Why do you hate the idea so much; of me being together with your boss?"

"What does it matter if I do? And what does it matter if I don't?"

"Then you should not be in here muttering such gibberish things to further upset my mood. I should have guessed that this pleasant behaviour of you serving me tea, was a bait to get me to loosen my guard around you. Pfft—"

"Should you blame me though?" Mrs. Phellipe was busy adjusting the single-layered cuffs of her narrow sleeves, contentedly. "Your real enemy is not this grumpy old woman standing in front of you. As much as I want to see you in pain for a variety of reasons and have you kicked out of the Estate, I prefer you made the choice by yourself, and left of your own will, retaining a little dignity in the process."

Louisa started to feel her heart thudding beneath her chest. She was shaking with fury, she bit her lips hard enough to make it stay.
