All at once, multiple footsteps marching across the several floors of the hall shot into her ears and along with a spike in her adrenaline. 

Heart hammering in her chest, she darted her eyes from left to right. 

Louisa pulled herself out of the door—ignoring the still small voice which was telling her to shrink back into her bedroom— and stepped onto the hallway. That was when she saw Brightfin running up her way. Stilling her nerves that were racking amidst the ongoing chaos at that point, Louisa stood waiting for Brightfin to come to her.

"Ms. Hazel?" Brightfin's voice sounded more compact than it normally would.
