Chapter 48: Verbal fight:

Qi Yan grabbed my hand and told me to follow him to the dining room. The door opened and I noticed it was a lot bigger than my dining room. It looked like a banquet hall, with a long table in the middle with a lot of chairs. Gosh, where am I meant to sit? Qi Yan must have noticed my concerns because he leaned down towards my ear and muttered "Sit next to me. I usually sit next to grandfather,". Grandpa Qi must have just remembered about the sitting arrangement because I heard his voice flow through the room asking me to sit next to him and Qi Yan.

In the end, I ended up sitting next to Qi Yan with Grandfather Qi right at the head of the table. Sitting next to me was Qi Hua Fen's family and sitting opposite me was Qi Ming Feng's family. Talk about awkwardness. Qi Yan was sitting directly opposite his father. Everyone knew that those two were always at odds with each other. But I suppose they both had to deal with each other when in the presence of Grandpa Qi .

"Qi Yan, do these food suit your appetite?" asked Liu Hui Fen. Qi Yan ignored her and turned his attention towards me. "Hui Qing, here eat more of this. I remember you are allergic to seafood. And you can't eat chilli so here try some of this few dishes," muttered Qi Yan as he grabbed some bits of the dishes into my plate. All of them was suited for my appetite. "Thank you," I whispered.

Before Qi Yan got a chance to say anything his father interrupted him saying, "Qi Yan, your mother is talking to you,". Qi Yan turned to look at his father and replied truthfully "My mother died long ago. So I don't know who you're talking about,". Oh gosh was a fight going to start a fight already. To be honest even if I wasn't meant to be excited but I haven't seen them fight in so long. In my first life I wouldn't see Qi Feng Ming quite often but whether I saw him it would always end up in a verbal fight with Qi Yan. "Qi Yan, Hui Fen married me your father, so she obviously is your mother,". Well if you said this to a child they would obviously agree with you. However Qi Yan was no child her grew up in isolation without his parents love. I mean what Qi Feng Ming says is true but whose he kidding. He already got with Liu Hui Fen before Qi Yan's mother died. A un loyal bastard man. Qi Yan seem to think of the same thing because he immediately commented "Qi Jiang is younger then me by 7 years. Mother died when I was 8. So please don't give me any nonsense about that women being my mother. A Xiao San*(1) will always be a Xiao san, no matter if she marries the guy or not. Even if she became the legal wife she will never become my mother," shouted Qi Yan. "QI YAN, DO YOU EVEN HAVE ANY RESPECT FOR ME?" shouted Qi Feng Ming. "My respect for you died when my mother died," muttered Qi Yan. "You are my son, your whole body is filled with my blood. You're are meant to listen what I say," retorted Qi Feng Ming. "your not wrong, you're my father but me and her share no blood relations. I've no need to respect her,".

And with that Qi Yan turned towards me and muttered "Do you like this?". I nodded my head but I felt a bit disappointed, sham there seem to be no more verbal fight. "Qi Yan, I'm sorry it seems that I've made you misunderstand so here. Let me apologise to you, however I met your dad after your mum died as for Qi Jiang... To be honest..." Liu Hui Fen began however Qi Yan interrupted her. "I'm sorry but whatever excuse you've I don't care," he muttered "yeye, I'm sorry but I really don't want to stay here," and with that he stood up leaving me right in my seat. I stood up and turned to grandpa Qi saying "I'm really sorry grandpa Qi but I think I can understand where Qi Yan is coming from. Imagine you find out that your father has a women outside and even has a daughter with her. How would you feel? And then your mother dies and that women is married to your father. Wouldn't you be angry? Sometimes you need to stand from your child's preceptive to understand something. Once again, I'm sorry," I explained and then I walked out of the dinning room. Before I got out of the dinning door I noticed Qi Yan was standing right there. I smiled at him and asked why he was still there. "I came back to get you. I forgot you were still there. So I came back to get you," he muttered sheepishly. I laughed out loud and grabbed his hand and walked back to the car with him.
