CHAPTER 56: Who would you rather be with?

“Also?” Jackson asked, and his twin brother frowned. What the hell did she mean by ‘also’

Anna bit her lip and kept her head low. She didn't want to look at them. Her heart twinged anytime she recalled the conversation she had eavesdropped on their way back home after she visited Jackson's company.

Over time, everything had made sense.

“I found out that my husband was among the potential contractors for a project in your company after we got back from the vacation house. That was why I had to leave. I couldn’t stay after knowing that you may be my husband’s next employer. I felt ashamed and humiliated, I had to leave.”

“Ex-husband.” Jackson corrected in a dormant voice. He hated how she kept referring to the old fart as her husband.

Anna nodded. “Did you buy me from my ex-husband by giving the project to him?” She asked again.

“No, I gave him the contract so he can divorce you,” Jackson answered truthfully.
