Chapter 24

  She looked back at me and grinned.

  “Alpha,” she said.

  “It's Alpha Alex. I'm not your Alpha,” I corrected and walked to the mirror in the room. I could see her through it.

  “I'm sorry, Alpha Alex. But how are you? It's been such a long time,” she said and stood straight, after she was done arranging the plates on the tray.

  “Yeah,” I simply said and began to dry my hair. She smiled and sat on my bed.

  “I really missed you, you know. Ever since that night at school, I've been dying to see you.”

  “So why are you here? Did you know I was coming?” I asked and turned around to face her.

  “No. I was only with your mother.”

  “Hmm,” I grunted and walked to the table where she placed the cakes. I took one slice and tasted it. It was good as usual.

  “How does it taste?” she asked and I sighed.
