Chapter 160

Aurien pulled off his clothing and shifted into dragon form, his scales brilliant and his roar enraged, followed by smoke and fire. His claws tore up tufts of soil and kicked them around him, and he shook his wings, flicking them out in a display of aggression, only stilling when Diandreliera approached his side, running her hand along his forequarter.

The Princess Diandreliera mounted, settling between the ridges on his back, and they paused for a moment whilst she drew the sword Rivyn had bequeathed her. Intuin Desparen gleamed in the sunlight, the magic in the sword ensuring it was seen by the army, which roared in response. She sheathed it and clutched the ridge before her as Aurien leapt into the air, his powerful wings sweeping and raising dust as he worked his way into the sky.

"A majestic sight," Narayan observed with awe.
