Chapter 601 ( Horde - I )

"Ok" - nodded Tio as she disappeared from the place, though before doing so, she looked in the direction where Cloud was working with an unreadable expression.

Yue watched this, but made no comment before retreating because she had to do her part of the plan.

30 minutes later, the preparations were ready, now all that was left was to wait for the evacuation to finish and close the last gap that covered this city.

Cloud had sent a message along with Aiko for the adventurer's guild to deliver support to the fleeing civilians.

"I guess this is what humans call the calm before the storm" - Tio said as she looked up at the sky that was starting to darken.

"Yeah, you could call it that" - Cloud replied before shaking his head - "Anyway, what did you call me for?"

"Because there's something I want to tell you" - Tio replied as she closed her eyes - "It's about the reason for my burning desire to join your journey."

"I can feel a huge feeling of revenge" - Cloud muttered while looking at the girl, who kept her expression calm.

"Yes, I desire revenge, revenge against the church, revenge against the pope, revenge against the mad gods" - answered Tio while gritting her teeth furiously.

Cloud could feel how the woman's hatred seemed to fuel her power, though after a few seconds he saw how she regained her calm.

"I'm sorry, just remembering it makes my emotions go out of control" - Tio muttered while frowning - "The truth, is that my clan was exiled by the church after we decided not to meddle in the human world and just protect them from the shadows."

Cloud was silent as he listened to the black-haired woman's account.

"But they didn't feel that was enough, no, they didn't call heretics and attacked our village and the people we protected" - Tio continued as she gritted her teeth - "During that attack, all my people died, my parents were among them, me being the only survivor, it was on that day that I swore revenge"

Tio could feel her blood boil at these words - "I was only able to escape while my parents stopped Ehit's apostles, I ran while my parents were killed, I was devastated"

Cloud frowned before sighing regretfully.

"I was running for a whole week because Ehit's forces were still after me, it was at that moment where my grandfather appeared and managed to save me, he took me to the sacred land of my tribe" - Tio continued while sighing with regret - "There I trained to exhaustion, until my scales were bathed in my blood from the hard training I went through, without realizing it, I became the strongest dragon in my tribe, but that didn't thrill because I knew this power wasn't enough to be able to face that mad god"

"My grandfather tried to match me with other prodigies of the tribe, but I defeated them all" - Tio muttered while grunting as she remembered the past - "It was during one of those matches that I got bored, and I decided to fight my grandfather so that he would give me complete freedom, if I won, he wouldn't bother me anymore and I would decide who would be my partner, and if he won, then I would still accept fights against my fiancés, in the end I won and decided that I would only take as a partner whoever managed to defeat me, but if they challenged me, it meant they wouldn't be able to do it again in the future"

"Let me guess, to stop them from continuing to bother you, you decided to cause critical damage against your first opponents to show that there would be no mercy" - said Cloud as he watched the girl nod weakly - "I'm sorry to have heard about your loss"

"Thank you" - smiled Tio as she sighed regretfully - "But I think you understand where I'm going with this conversation."

"You want my help to kill Ehit, to help you consummate your revenge" - Cloud replied as he looked closely at the black-haired woman.

"Yes, that's exactly what I wish" - Tio answered honestly because she knew that this was the best way to continue with her goal - "I can feel that your soul is powerful, and your mortal vessel is slowly adapting to your power, that means that in the future you will have enough power to be able to kill Ehit."

Cloud said nothing in response before nodding - "Thank you for telling me the truth."

"No, it's the least I can do with someone who is of my race" - Tio replied with a small smile, though her face quickly turned serious - "Though we still need to finish our battle, although that can wait until we finish with the problem in front of us"

"Sounds good to me" - Cloud smiled as his aura grew considerably.

He quickly told her that he had a few matters to finish before he left.

"No matter what deadly vessel you use, a dragon will always be a dragon" - Tio muttered as she watched the blond again retreat silently - "I hope you're prepared, because there's nothing more dangerous than a dragon interested in someone."

Tio's golden eyes, closed slightly as a huge smile appeared on her lips.

Time progressed slowly and the preparations were over.

The villagers had already escaped and now there was only an empty village left with a small group of people inhabiting the entire place.

Cloud was looking at the starry sky while thinking about everything that had happened in the time he was in this world, seeing how everything was too monotonous for his liking.

To him, who had been constantly facing hundreds of different creatures, normal life was boring.

"What do you think?" - Yue asked as she sat down next to her husband.

"In that this world is much more fun than my old world, despite the dangerous and crazy gods it has" - Cloud answered honestly.

"Honestly, I wish my world was like yours" - Yue said while looking at the sky - "Maybe then, there won't be any more children like us, people rejected for reasons beyond our control."

"I'm sorry, but that will still happen no matter the world" - replied Cloud while shaking his head - "Conscious creatures with ego, will always reject everything that is different from them"

"You're right" - nodded Yue while frowning - "Did you hear that?"

"Yes, they're coming, I can hear the sound of hundreds of footsteps" - Cloud replied as he stood up and let out a loud shout - "They're coming!"

"Huh!" - Shea exclaimed as she looked around in surprise - "Who's coming?"

"The horde, you worthless rabbit!" - Yue exclaimed as she gave her friend a blank look.

"Stop calling me a worthless rabbit!" - Shea exclaimed as she threw a small tantrum, but her expression changed when her ears detected the sound of hundreds of footsteps - "It's over 30,000!"

"I know" - Cloud replied as he looked towards the huge group of shadows approaching the city - "It's at least twice that many, but it doesn't change things much."

Tio raised an eyebrow, but was surprised to see a huge artifact appear in front of the blond - "What is that?"

"It's a new weapon I was designing" - Cloud replied as he squinted - "I managed to finish it a few days ago and hadn't been able to test it until now"

"You want to use an experimental weapon?" - Tio asked while looking at the blond, but her expression changed when she felt a huge magical concentration on the blond's weapon.

"R388 Weapon - Railgun Model" - muttered Cloud as his enrome weapon began to roar fiercely. The weapon consisted of a huge green barrel with black and brown, a camouflage type color palette - "Initiating charge, preparing to fire."

Tio stood silently as he watched everything unfold.

Yue was at Cloud's side while Shea was watching the new weapon curiously.

"Fire!" - Cloud exclaimed as he felt half of his magic reserves disappear with the sound of a powerful shot that spread to where the monsters were.

A few seconds later, the sound of an explosion echoed in the distance.

Tio opened her eyes, terrified at this new weapon, only to see how a huge crater had appeared in the center of the monsters' army - "What is that power?"

"Railgun, I used the concept of my natal home along with that of a certain person, to create a weapon that I could fire an elemental ball of mass destruction" - Cloud answered normally - "I use my mana to create the ammunition for this weapon, employing as a catalyst an elemental core of the lightning element to maximize the explosive damage."

Tio didn't know what to say, she just watched as the enemy army seemed to become disoriented with the overall situation, she even noticed how some of them started attacking each other.

"I'm going to wait a little longer to launch the second shot, the first test was a complete success, although I have to modify some things because the charge and damage time is worse than I thought" - Cloud muttered while thinking about how to improve his weapon.

"Still not satisfied?" - asked Tio as her body trembled because this was too much.
