The assigned duties of the dead.

Is the name given to the book that holds the names of all Undertakers, all death gods at anything bellow minor god status and other minor gods that aren't immortalized in a true title. The Damned are also officially written in this book but no one of the same book can read this truth. It is the companion book to the death tome record, all souls whom have died have names written into this section. Once a name is on there, it can't be used by the same soul. But it seems only to soul itself is about to recount if it has been that name before or not. Not included in both books is the only way a soul can be judged, meaning the scythe of a death god is indeed a souled object. It takes a soul conversation to figure out the judgement of if the soul has to be released by force from the realm shell it fell into - a nicer way of say it really.

Death gods are of all shapes, cultures and ranges of godhood. Some minor folks take it as a minimal salary job and the more ranking of them are indeed gods to someone's culture. Most are are reborn souls that crossed to the death domain realm. Others are duty bound to the realms they come from in the life before. Not all 'living' realms are what humans consider 'living'.

There is a death god for gods as example. There is a death god who collects souls from cursed objects, because sometimes a soul is born in the object or was retained into a object - horcruxes are canon. It also explains the tomes being sentient too, a fact all death gods had as some point learnt. Poor treatment of the book can lead to the instant termination of a death god's life - by being ate by it in the extreme cases.

There is a department in partnership with undertakers to remove any souls from inside the tomes. If the tomes have to many souls, it increases the chance to annoy the book easier. Which increase the likelihood of a innocent person being punished for something the tome could tell was who. Accidents happen, and they happen more when there is to much self-awareness.

Undertakers are the beings that directly deal with injured living beings. They are the beings who protect living from mistakes caused from demons, angels, and etc. They like death gods can pause time. Death gods take souls and leave. Undertakers relocate living beings or return souls into the living cycle. They can haze memories and give living bodies to a bodiless souls - with preparation and ahead of time paperwork. They have many departments for living businesses accept suddenly existing people into ethical living standards. The more complicated living modern life has become, the more departments had increased over the years or changed purposes.

They are a kingdom ruled by a single monarch. This monarch as traditionally had a left and right hand. They tend to have counts and countess under them. Each count or countess title is a department leader required as undertaker need to be. They are by everyone else, the police or peace keepers. The will take some orders from ranked death gods, if only it were for to check on if someone was really dying or not. Undertakers value dream walker predictions of the outcomes for what could or will happen to living worlds. Undertakers are also famous for being soul estate agents, souls with no clue for what to do will be reborn husks in the undertaker domain to seek help.

Undertakers do not use their soul names, living names or old nicknames. This is to prevent power over them as demons do. The new names are often how they died, a trait they have or they taken it from duelling another undertaker. Duels are only allowed in their realm with clear rules. The has to be a stake in it for both sides. Titles are taken this way even the monarch's title. Which is how everyone respects who is in the packing order. If you have a issue, you duel it. This ordered chaos has been the best way for undertakers to adapt. They loose sense of time given their ability to stop time - makes it hard for them to judge relativity anymore. They are ageless but not immortal.

Undertakers are reborn as husks, regardless of being a shadow of the damned before or not. They can occasionally be mismarked angels - with little wings. They are sometime demons who are to honest and have personality that doesn't benefit a demon type. The middle ground who are neither, those are rare to come by. Husks of undertakers are not totally clueless - they retain abilities learned over lifetimes. Like reading, writing and speaking. The extra special have more then that in skill, clearly shady checked past types.

Some can access the death books and others can access the angelic tomes. No one has ever fessed to being able to summon both at the same time. Partners are required to have one or the the other - both books have to be in use by at least one the two. Soul contracts bind the partners. These contracts have not always been a good match up, so the lower rankers are like quick sand and loss their abilities to be undertakers eventually. Sometime the one partner raises or falls as the other is left behind. Death gods have a department fix soul cases like them.

The length of time a undertaker lingers about is just the skill or sheer will of the soul. Curiosity (of the early chapters) is much older then he pretends to be, his been around before the first monarch. He has always been a top ranking and sighted as one the wise ones among those in the know. He can personally recount the succession of those whom ruled over. He has been the right hand, left hand or shadow king. He is the best suited for it but has never taken the monarchy title. Some say he does in a back handed way. He has never explained why to anyone, not even old partners. Yet there is something else about him that isn't a trait of a undertaker or a trait that accounted for anyone. His longevity is due in part of it. It is that he realizes that all rings made by a undertaker for a partnership is the solid form of his and his partners soul. He has them hidden away somewhere. It is likely that he has never shared this secret in fear of many others being like him. He has fierce loyalty to the way of undertakers, and maybe its what keeps him to this.

As of this edition of the Auxiliary chapter edition 1:

The current monarch is a man whom is at war with the cursed society of humanity. He believes whatever it the cause of this family bloodline going on as it is, was the fault of the gods. The society of humanity has been around not as long as most would believe, only since the current living back to the dawn of time. Another factor of undertakers loosing sense of time is the gods reversing all human worlds back to the beginning as they please. For undertaker the dawn of time has happened many times, while humans only theories of such things and living assume it only happened once.

The family curse isn't the case as the king thinks, as he doesn't know the truth. But it is this man's personal mission to be at war with the 'tricksters'. The label he told everyone to call a traitor by. Everything that undertaker try to do is being made a mess by the society of humanity.

Ever since having news that a trickster is being excluded from the society, he has been in keen interests to take them in and make this his pawn to spy with. He may get more then he bargains for. A price to pay for knowledge follows in the issue of accepting this outsider.
