The Witch of Gold

There is a legend about the Nine Realms about a place that cannot be found, even the god Heimdall who has super hearing or the dark Odin who can see all over the Nine Realms cannot see it.

It is about someone, a spirit, a giant or a god. No one knows who it is.

They say that person appears in many different animal forms.

When in trouble, that person will guide.

When someone is in danger, they will be protected.

It doesn't matter who the target is, whether it is a giant, a dwarf or an elf, they will all come into contact with that person.

Especially this person often appears in dreams when they finish their work. All describe, they stand in the middle of a garden filled with fresh flowers, the sky is blue with white clouds, there is also a simple and classic wooden house. That place was full of life and warmth that made everyone want to linger to enjoy the peace.

The Nine Realms nicknamed that person "Invisible Guardian, Havi"

A little girl was lost in the forest, the little girl was sobbing in fear when a rustling sound startled her. The frightened child did not know what was lurking in the bushes, she could only clasp her hands and hold the feather tightly and pray.

"Please come here and save me, Havi. I want to go back to my father and mother, I'm so scared"

The rustling sound got closer and closer, the child closed her eyes tightly, tears flowing out of fear.

The thing that jumped out of the bushes was a large deer that made the child open his eyes wide in surprise, the deer had thick brown fur and large horns, the highlight was that on the deer's face there was a strange rune symbol, it looked at the little girl then stomped its feet on the ground and scratched the ground. As the deer lowered itself, its eyes looked at the little girl as if it wanted her to climb onto its back.

"Are you the messenger of Havi?"

The deer didn't say anything, just snorted lightly as an answer.

The child happily climbed onto the deer's back, after the little girl climbed onto it, the deer ran away at a fast speed, the little girl grabbed the deer tightly and observed the surrounding scenery was no longer scary, but the forest was shining behind the green trees. The child's eyes widened, a happy smile began to form on her lips as she was no longer afraid of the forest.

The deer jumped out of the forest and ran towards the nearby village when a couple called out the child's name. As soon as they saw the deer carrying their child on its back, they happily lifted the child off the deer's back and hugged him tightly.

"You made us worry so much, where did you go?"

"I'm sorry, I got lost in the forest. But Havi's messenger has picked me up!"

"Havi?"

The couple looked at the deer that had been standing at the entrance of the forest for a while, it stood watching the small family for a while then ran into the forest and disappeared.

"Goodbye!"

The little girl waved goodbye to the deer and the couple looked at each other and then they returned home, in the house there was a stone tied to a cloth string with white feathers hanging. They believed that the connection of the Invisible Guardian was related to the feathers, so having feathers in the house would definitely protect them.

As for the other deer, after bringing the child back to his family, he returned to his master, who was in a land that no one else could see.

The symbol on the deer's face glowed, causing it to move to the peaceful land. The deer slowly walked towards the waterfall, where a person was sitting there surrounded by animals.

When he saw the deer return, the person stood up, turned towards the creature, and gently stroked it with his hands that were feathers like bird wings.

"You've worked hard."- Havi

"Please forgive my carelessness, I'm back later than expected."- Deer

"It's okay, as long as we avoid the eyes of as many people as possible."- Havi

While petting the deer, Havi's gentle face carried a basket of flowers and walked towards the wooden house.

"Let's go home. We'll have a lot of work to do soon. Our peaceful life will be" - Havi

As expected, Havi's words in Mirgard started to rain gold and silver treasures from the sky, people cheered happily when they saw such beautiful things.

She waved her hand and the image on the waterfall disappeared, the water opened a teleportation door showing Midgard in chaos, Havi immediately went through it to reach her destination.

Everything was engulfed in flames, death and mourning, she looked up at the sky and wondered to herself if the gods were watching?

If so, why didn't they protect the people of Midgard?

"Listen to my call, my children. Take the innocent people deep into the forest, set up protective screens, don't come out without my command" - Havi

The animals heard the command and immediately went to do the assigned work.

Soon Midgard will have to endure a great war between the Aesir and the Vanir, although they are gods, they have no concept of gods.

A dark figure descended to Midgard, she had silver-white hair, and magic symbols on her face, it was Gullveig, the witch of gold. While she was feeling satisfied with what she had done, suddenly a giant eagle's foot grabbed her, its claws digging into her body causing her pain.

"You look so happy, huh? Witch of the Gold Craving?"- Havi

"Who are you?"- Gullveig

"What do you need to know who I am? All you need to know is that what you're doing is really troubling me. Why don't you just admit that you're the one who started the war between the Aesir and the Vanir instead of hiding like a mouse?"- Havi

Gullveig turned her head to look behind her and saw the silhouette of a giant bird. The witch squinted her eyes to see more clearly, it was a woman with icy hair, the woman's limbs were bird parts. She had never seen this creature before since she was born.

Havi's legs tightened around Gullveig's body, making her even more painful, when she was about to cast a spell, she realized something was wrong. The spell didn't work, no matter how many spells Gullveig chanted, nothing happened, this was really too absurd especially for a powerful witch like her.

"What did you do to me?!"- Gullveig

"Nothing, it's just that your magic doesn't work on me. Not only that, no matter how powerful your magic is, it can't hurt me"- Havi

"What kind of creature are you?"- Gullveig

"I told you, you don't need to know what to do. Because you're about to face your greatest fear"- Havi smiled lightly

Opening her wings and flapping them hard, she shot straight up into the sky at an unimaginable speed, stopping in mid-air Gullveig found herself very far from the ground.

"Let me tell you, once my claws touch you, you won't be able to use magic anymore. Just like if I drop you, you'll just be a mangled corpse"- Havi

"No...no...you can't do that to me! Who gave you the right to do that?"- Gullveig shouted angrily

"Then who gave you the right to use Midgard for experimentation? You really don't have any compassion, you just want to satisfy what you think is right. I'll give you a chance, if you confess what you did, I can spare your life"- Havi

"I didn't do anything wrong. The Aesir gods are the ones who don't have compassion, they tried to kill me three times. But they still insist that my magic is dangerous. I'm just trying to show myself"- Gullveig

The witch's voice gradually turned to trembling and fear, although it was true that Gullveig was the one who caused the war between Aesir and Vanir, she was also somewhat pitiful because Asgard did not like her presence and magic, that was why she became like this.

Havi slowly landed and placed Gullveig on the ground, making the witch surprised by the actions of this strange creature.

"Wouldn't it be better if you just confessed everything? Why do you have to endure it?"- Havi

"Aren't you going to kill me?"- Gullveig

"I was just testing you, I know you have no bad intentions, just want to prove yourself, but you shouldn't use magic on innocent people in Midgard. That will only make you look bad in the eyes of the Aesir"- Havi

"Do you really believe what I say? You will regret sparing my life"- Gullveig

"I am the one who has eyes to see, so whatever my choice brings is still my choice. You can go now"- Havi

"I... have nowhere to go"- Gullveig

"Don't you have a home? Aren't you a völva, with a luxurious place to live?"- Havi wondered

"Even though I am a völva, my roots are still in a normal village. But that village chased me away as soon as I realized my magic, I trained myself a lot to come to Asgard ask for a place to stand there. How ironic, they are gods and yet they fear my magic"- Gullveig

Hearing that, Havi walked towards the witch.

"Then would you like to come to my place?"- Havi

"What? We have just met and you are already asking me to come to your place? Don't you think it's too easy?"- Gullveig

"What's wrong? It's better than wandering aimlessly without a proper place to stay"- Havi

The sky began to darken, the storm of war between Aesir and Vanir was about to begin. Havi extended his hand towards Gullveig as if asking the witch to decide whether to come along or not. The witch's hand gently grasped the creature's hand and both of them teleported away as a bolt of lightning struck the place where they had just stood.

The waterfall opened up a path and Gullveig arrived at Havi's land, a place the witch had never seen before. She noticed that the animals here all had drawings on them, those drawings were very familiar.

"Welcome to my land, Eir. A peaceful place away from the troubles outside"- Havi

"This place is really... beyond imagination. I am in the land rumored to be the Tenth Realm"- Gullveig

Havi turned her head and smiled.

"How is it? This place always welcomes everyone with open arms, but those who intend to cause trouble here, I'm afraid they will be punished"- Havi

Picking up a bowl of paint near the waterfall, Havi dipped her hand into it and then took Gullveig's hand and drew a symbol on it.

"Here you will be safe, away from the eyes of those who are suspicious and afraid of your magic. You can freely come and go, with my protection you don't need to worry about anything anymore"- Havi

When the Rune symbol was drawn, it was imprinted on Gullveig's skin, not feeling any pain but instead a feeling of lightness and peace.
