That was something I never expected to hear from anyone. Honestly, Vince could've told me it was anyone else, and I would've easily believed it. Adam and I had never been friends, but I thought I knew him better than this. His dedication to the welfare of the pack was something all of us could rely on. Even when we were kids, he was the first to volunteer to help at the packhouse and took an interest in how the pack was doing.

When he decided to become a council member, I didn't protest. He was a flirt with the females, but he'd be a good addition. I didn't mind the fact he challenged the decisions I made.
