'You're... sad...' Dylan sat beside me, his head resting on my stomach. I'd come outside to get fresh air while everyone watched the potion. 'Why?'
Sighing, I slowly stroked his head, staring at the night sky. It was three in the morning, but I couldn't sleep. The mixture was at its turning stage, and we were almost at Amber Blood. Once that happened, I could sleep a little since the next stage took many hours. This part needed the most work, but I couldn't be inside with everyone right now. I told them what to look for, and they'd get me.
"Thinking," I lied, not wanting to talk about it.
'Liar...' he teased gently, staring at me with his golden eyes. I still don't understand why his are like that; mine are gold and silver. 'You don't... have to lie to me.'
