Choices we make

Nefretiri

"We know what they did," Peter approached me, keeping his voice low and speaking in Greek. "They used a human drug."

"What?" I scowled at him, confused. "What kind of drug?"

"Pitosin. It stimulates labor," he explained. "It's what's caused you to go into premature labor. We have to get you to the pack hospital."

"I can't leave," I hissed, fighting the urge to look for Nathxena. "If they find out, I've lost."

"Nefretiri. I understand that, but you're in danger. Cabe told me the real readings, and if he's right, you might be suffering preeclampsia." He looked so serious; I know Cabe's used that word before. "Have you been having headaches? Feeling pain right under your ribs? Is your eyesight blurry?"

"Yes," He'd just named off everything I'd been feeling since this morning. "How could they get it in? Would a human drug even work on me?"
