"I wish I was a bird"
"I wish I was a bird"
!!
Speak with some longing when you hear a second voice say the same words as me.
I was surprised and quickly look up, there I see a hooded person sitting on the branch of the tree that I am lying 2 meters high. I don't understand how I didn't detect these people or why they didn't make any noise. Maybe I got lost thinking about her?
I don't understand what this person is doing there, but from her soft and pleasant-to-listen voice, I guess she is a girl. Although she is young, she seems to be going through some personal problem that overwhelms her, since she wishes to be a bird.
I long to be a bird because I am sad and overwhelmed by the death of my father, I want to find out who was the person who killed him; I must also earn money to continue my studies and personal items; I also want to defeat Dexter to be able to free myself from his shadow that weighs on me for several years and I don't want that anymore; finish my studies as my father always wanted; be happy; That's why he wants to be like a bird and free me from all restrictions, flying freely without worries like humans.
Though I won't tell all this to a stranger.
"Hello friend, did you happen to see a pretty girl with blue hair walk by?"
I sympathize with this hooded girl, that's why I asked her if she saw Eve here
"So I'm pretty to you?"
The mystery girl speaks to me with an oddly familiar tone that leaves me bewildered. After a few seconds of hesitation, this person turns around and lowers the hood.
"Eve…"
Of course it was Eve, just by seeing the blue hair flowing under the hood I already identified her. But that small, white, tender and cute face with flushed cheeks is charming. I didn't mean to obliquely compliment Eve, I didn't really acknowledge her, but since I did then I won't deny it.
I nodded at her question and Eve smiled in response.
"Hehe, you also seem handsome to me"
Eve laughs and jokes, or maybe not, that she thinks I'm cute. Although she sure says it as a joke because my face is just normal.
"She was looking for you, I didn't think you would be sitting on a tree branch"
I shook my head at her joke.
"You really came, I thought you were going to be busy"
Eve looks at me doubtfully after calming down her blush, though she still has a hint of pink on her cheeks that makes her look adorable.
"I promised you, I'm not a boy who goes back on her words"
I wasn't really going to come today, but I had some time and decided to stop by. This is the first time Eve has invited me to hang out with her since we met. How could I not come? Even though I'm tired, I can make an extra effort.
"Hehe, but what if you never promised to come…but I'm glad you did"
Eve laughs and covers her mouth with one hand, the other holding a notebook. She didn't seem to care that I came here, but the whisper at the end of the sentence told me otherwise. It seems my hearing improved or Eve wanted me to hear her whisper, I don't know, but I'm going for the former.
It feels good that she likes me here, it would be completely different if her invitation was just formal and she didn't mind my presence.
"Come on! Come up here with me"
Eve motioned for me to climb the tree, I first put my backpack next to Eve's. Yeah, Eve's backpack was behind a bush that surrounds the middle of the tree, that's why I didn't see it earlier.
I took some distance and ran towards the trunk of the tree to step on it and jump. It was a height of 2 meters before reaching the branch Eve was on. And my jumping ability is not the best.
"Haha, what are you trying to do? Let's go"
Silly Eve is laughing at me because I grabbed the branch but couldn't climb up because my arms weren't strong enough. I can barely do 4 push-ups, what do you want?
Still, silly Eve, help me out when she's done laughing. She grabs my hands and pulls me up, I sit on the branch, to Eve's left.
"I didn't think you were so light"
Eve teased me with a mischievous face. This is the first time I see her show that expression because at school she is silent. That's why I'm not angry.
"I didn't think you had so much strength either"
I also made fun of her, indirectly saying that she's not a 'normal' girl in a good way.
It seems like she didn't take it the same way I did though because she made a cute pout and looked away.
We stand in silence, quietly watching the fountain spouting water, the sound of the birds and the gentle breeze.
